A- Cheng's Melancholy

Jiang Cheng was taking the path to Lotus lake when sudden footsteps and desperate screams startled him. Cloud recesses forbids running and loud noises, who will be violating the rules this early in the morning . Then he realised this wasn't cloud recesses at all. Staying too much with XiChen had done that to him.

When the screams got closer, Jiang Cheng turned around to witness a screaming Wei Ying running towards him.

Wei Ying : " Jiang Cheng!!!"

Jiang Cheng : " To make Wei WuXian to shout like that, it must be either Lan QiRen or a dog."

To confirm Jiang Cheng's theory a small puppy was following the running Wei WuXian happily. Although Jiang Cheng was stiff outside, his brotherly instinct immediately kicked in and he opened his arms for Wei WuXian as he did when they were younger. Wei Ying will always jump into his arms and hug him until Jiang Cheng manages to shoo away the dog.

Wei Ying : "Jiang Cheng! Have mercy."

Jiang Cheng : " Come here. Quick, quick!"

But unlike old times, Wei WuXian didn't jump into his arms directly, instead he grabbed both Jiang Cheng's hands in his own. Jiang Cheng saw a flash of white by the corner of his eyes but ignored it. Wei WuXian is more important now.

Confused Jiang Cheng, : " Wei WuXian! What are you doing? "

Wei Ying :" Hold tightly!"

Holding onto Jiang Cheng's hands tightly, Wei WuXian leaped forward.
Jiang Cheng took it as Wei Ying was going to hide behind him instead of jumping into his arms. His heart melted. After all these years, Wei WuXian still wants to be protected by him.

Jiang Cheng : " Okay, hide behind me. I will shoo the dog away."  * This time, I am the one who is protecting him, not that annoying Lan WangJi.

Wei Ying : " Lan Zhaaaaaan!"

Jiang Cheng : " What!"

Jiang Cheng turned around to see why this idiot was calling for Lan WangJi out of nowhere. To his utmost suprise, Lan WangJi was standing behind him, arms spread, ready to welcome Wei Ying in his embrace.

Wei Ying :" Lan Zhaaaaaan! Dog! Dog! Protect me!"

Lan Zhan : " Mn. Will protect Wei Ying."

Jiang Cheng : " What the..." *Why did Lan WangJi had to stand behind me. Is he trying to rub in my eyes that Wei Ying prefers him over me!

Jiang Cheng wished he didn't turn around at all. Wei Ying was jumping from a little too higher and landed exactly on Lan WangJi 's face. And he didn't seemed to let go of him anytime soon.

Wei Ying : " Lan Zhan! Your Wei Ying is going to die! Shoo away that dangerous animal."

Jiang Cheng : " Wei WuXian! Get off Lan WangJi' s face right now before I break your legs!"

Wei Ying : " Lan Zhaaaaaan! Shoo away Jiang Cheng too. He is trying to kill me with a dog. "

Lan Zhan carefully took Wei Ying into his arms and hugged him close to his body.

Lan Zhan :" Sect leader Jiang, I requested you to clear the Lotus pier from dogs. Be responsible next time. "

With that Lan Zhan left carrying Wei Ying who was rather comfortable in wrapping his legs around his Lan Zhan's waist.

Jiang Cheng : " He had Wei WuXian practically sitting on his face minutes ago and I am the irresponsible one here! "

But it was only the little puppy, Jiang Cheng and his loneliness who were left there, Lan WangJi and Wei WuXian has long gone.
