Nearly losing you | Kirito x Asuna | part 2

There I sat in the hospital, outside the surgery room as Asuna was already rushed into surgery.

I sigh while rubbing my hands through my hair and looking at the floor.

Asuna...please be okay...

I couldn't help but feel guilty for what had happened....if I was with Asuna and the girls, driving them home instead of Asuna...Asuna wouldn't even be in this position in the first place!

It's all my fault.

As I sit with my hands covering my face, I feel someone tap my shoulder lightly. 

My eyes suddenly widen in shock as I look to my left and see...

"E-Eugeo?"

"Hey, Kirito."

The blond boy gave me a warm smile, his eyes softly gleaming as he did so. 

My heart sinks. 

"W-What are you?-"

"Doing here?"

I nod slowly, looking confused. 

"I'm a figment of your imagination, Kirito..."

"I-I thought I took pills to stop that..."

He shakes his head and smiles. 

"You can't stop what's in your heart, Kirito..."

"I-I didn't mean it like that, Eugeo...I'm surprised I can still see you..."

"Isn't it great, Kirito?" he says while smiling softly, a familiar smile that had me tearing up. 

It was all too familiar...

"Hey, Kirito...where are we?"

"In the hospital...Eugeo."

"H-hospital? but why?!"

"A-Asuna...had an accident."

"T-That's awful, is she alright!?"

Once again, I run my hands through my hair in stress, while leaning over my seat.

I watch with widened eyes as Eugeo pats my back softly kneeling in front of me.

"She'll be fine, Kirito...stay cool..."

My eyes widen with more tears as I look into the eyes of my dear departed friend, while feeling my eyes water.

"Eugeo..."

He smiles warmly at me.

I smile while doing my best to hold in my tears.

"Yeah, I will."

He lets out a soft laugh and nods before fading away in front of my very eyes.

I lean back on the chair, while closing my eyes and smile to myself.

Thank you, Eugeo...I nearly lost my cool for a second...

As I continue waiting in my seat, a doctor suddenly approaches me.

I instantly stand up, eager to know how Asuna was doing.

"Excuse me, Kazuto Kirigaya?"

I nod and watch as the doctor looks over notes on his clipboard.

I look at the doctor with worry and concern.

"Excuse me doctor, how's Asuna doing?!"

The doctor looks up at me.
