Seven deadly sins once constituted
the rules of mankind. Sheets of printed
perfectly unison paper writing the rules
of all human kind. Now, only weak rules
remain in place, but, much like elastics when
pulled too tight, they break.
Condemnation in the modern era is
just as easy. Showing too much skin
is considered normal in this new age,
flirting for cameras just as safe.
Toss out the rulebook like litter picked up
from the sidewalk — oh wait — I forgot,
it's cool if it just gets walked over instead.
The tip of a stiletto heel a fraction away
from making contact with the disease.
A rotten generation of corrupted video-game
violence, teens hiding depression in memes
that speak volumes, when we're all broken
and secretly in despair. But we'll laugh at
funny pictures when we're dead on the interior,
on the surface we're all so very clearly fine.
The seven deadly sins got nothing on us,
we'll just white-out lines we don't like
and throw out the rulebook completely.

generation, dancing their way to the top
of the pay-roll like a babydoll in a jazz band.
