"So how did it go. Helpful or just meh?" I asked after closing the book. It's been about forty five minutes now since we started studying and we still had five minutes left to our first class.

He slid the books towards him, putting the pen on his front pocket of dark grey upper under which he was wearing white shirt.

Entangling his fingers in his unruly curls, he pushed them away, patting them down until the end that rested on his shoulders that were in between straight and curly, he looked at me.

"I think I just realized how seriously I would have to study from now on." He exhaled an exaggerated sigh, widening his eyes with raised eyebrows dramatically as he eyed the notebooks as if eyeing the skeleton of a dinosaur.

I chuckled lightly and realizing what I just did, i quickly covered my mouth looking over at other students who didn't seem to care and then looked at librarian.

Ofcourse!

He was looking our way like an ogre and I mouthed sorry and turned back to the front again before he could reward me with generous words.

Patting at his book, I looked up at him, " no going back now."

"Yup, no going back." He agreed flashing his toothy grin.

Picking up our stuff, we made our way out of the library.

"So I guess I'll see you tomorrow then?" I asked as I stood and faced him, hoping he didn't want to vanish in thin air after first tutoring lesson.

"Sure, you'll go to your next class now?" He asked.

"Yeah, I'm heading towards history class." I gestured towards where I had to go.

"Alright then, I'll walk you over there." He said while tagging along.

"Oh okay." I agreed thinking he might have class in that block too.

After few seconds he cleared his throat gaining my attention from football breeches," so you're Asian?" He asked nervously, looking at me.

I felt self conscious all of a sudden," yes, I am."

"Hm, I could tell by the way you dress and all." He said through nervous chuckle as he pushed his free hand in his jeans pocket.

"So can you guess which country then?" I asked to lighten up the tumultuous waves of nervousness inside of me.

Not because he gave off uncomfortable vibes but just the fear of being judged was enough to unsettle me.

He looked at me for awhile, squinting his eyes. After a moment has passed, I narrowed my eyes at him and he burst out in embarassed laughter," alright, I was totally playing," he said showing his palms in surrender," I guess you are from India? Or maybe an Arab country? I'm not so good at it, you know!" He stated as we entered the hallway, trying not to bump into students' shoulders.

"Well, you were pretty close. I'm from pakistan." I informed him, looking at the group of girls from my class, entering at the other end of the hallway.

"Oh I was totally going to say that!" He told with over excitement making me roll my eyes.

"Well that explains your brown features." To that I hummed knowing I had my eyes brown along with skin tone that was in between brown and fair color. And although my hair was covered under my blue scarf, it was also brown.

"So what about you?"

"well I'm a sunshine of New Jersey, " he boasted as the love for his home town flowed out of his eyes that looked quite big above his straight nose on his slim face," country side actually. You should visit that place somebody. Im sure you will love the hospitality of people there, unlike here." He informed while scrunching up his nose, while mumbling something about people here not even bothering to wave around at others.

"This one." I stopped in front of the class and smiled his way, " thank you for coming along."

He stopped and peaked behind me inside the class and then nodded at me as his dimples appeared on his cheeks," nah, it's alright. I had to meet uh-" he looked to the right of the hallway, bustling with hurrying students, " a-a  friend anyway." He replied," yes, a friend" shifting over his other feet,he nodded hurriedly and started off down the hallway.

Though I hardly believed in what he told in the end.

"So it's okay if I come back late right?" Emma shouted from far behind me as I made my way towards the tree where I decided to spend the last half an hour before leaving the school.

She knew where I would be spending my spare time, nose deep in my notes and found me coming here midway.

While I rushed over to the tree, trying to get rid of blazing sun overhead by the cool shadow, she didn't seem to mind that a bit as she kept her turtle pace up while shouting for everyone around us to look our way and hear everything perfectly, giving us weird looks.

Guess she couldn't care less.

"Jake said, we'll have a movie night together so it might take sometime. You can go to sleep. I'll unlock the door with the keys. So it's all good right?"  She shouted once again after me and I ducked my head under a book that i held up to defeat the purpose of this sun to burn me down with its scorching glare, but mostly because I didn't want others to think she was talking to me.

Yup! I didn't know who she is!

"I said-" she started again as I approached the tree. I whirled around lowering my book and shooting my piercing gaze at her as if it would magically zip up her lips.

"I heard you the first time!" I told her exhaling under the shadow of a tree, praying for the person who grew it there maybe hundreds of years ago, looking at the roots dangling from the branches over me.

Breeze swept past my face and I inhaled deeply in bliss.

But then I opened my eyes looking at my roommate who wants me to call her best friend.

She finally approached me and fished out her earpods, digging the end inside the hole of her cellphone," so I'll see you at night then! Or in the morning maybe?" She asked while stuffing the ear pods inside her ears but then went still when she analyzed my expressions.

"I mean, when you wake up!" She giggled a bit too hard in the end. And when I didn't return it. She put her fake persona to an end, just as I thought, and shrugged nonchalantly.

"Whatever, suit yourself, you crazy old lady!"

I shot up from my place where I had settled down hearing her panicked squeal, and picked up the notebook to throw it at her head so that I could hear that satisfactoy bang as it hits her head but I guess she knew what was coming cause when I looked up, she was gone leaving yellow leaves flying to some distance in her trail.

I shook my head feeling the corners of my lips tugging upward.

She is totally crazy!

I sat back down in cris cross manner and opened my notebooks. Then I heard a whisper of footsteps approaching from afar. Expecting to find Emma coming back again, probably to tell me something more that she forgot earlier.

I looked up, opening my mouth to retort back to her previous comment but my parted lips froze as I looked at the person approaching with heavy footsteps, now reverberating thunderous sound, that mirrored his stoic expressions.

Goodness!

I need to run away!
