Better Leverage

Jackie's eye twitched, obviously not expecting THAT as a plan, "Are you insane!? I was with you at first but seriously!? Even YOU can't handle that much energy, Anti! That cable is what keeps the generators going in the ENTIRE city! You could-"

Anti snapped him a look, "Shut up, hero. You think I can't handle it? Fook off. I'll show you what I can and can't do" he smirked, only making look more unhinged.

Marvin and Chase hid behind a snowbank  in front of their destination. The cabin was just up ahead and they could see Dark's silhouette from the window.

"How do you know the kids are in there?"

Marvin grunted, "I laced their suckers, remember? I KNOW they're in there. I can feel it"

"So what do we do then? Barge right in quick or wait for a good moment? I don't think we have a lot of time, Marv. Dark didn't seem like the patient type, really"

"I know but the cabin is just one big room. Nowhere to sneak in and just grab the kids. Not while he's in there at least."

"So what?" Chase grumbled, "We just wait for him to leave to take a piss or something?"

The magician rolled his eyes, "Normal bodily functions don't work here, Chase. But I imagine if we can distract him with something then perhaps he'll leave the kids to check it out"

"Right. You create the distraction then and I'll go save my kids"

"uH . . . ." Marvin bit his lip, "Easy there, champ. We need to think this through better than that. Dark is smarter than we give him credit for, after all. He's always a couple steps ahead"

"So he could already know we're here?"

"Probably"

"Well this just keeps getting better and better, doesn't it? What do we have to lose then?"

"Stop it" Marvin hushed him, "I might have a plan but you can't just rush in, Chase. Remember to chill out, alright? A blank mind"

"Trying" he huffed, "Not exactly easy when my kids are being held hostage by a psychopath"

"You dealt with Anti being around them. Surely this isn't too much different"

"Anti's a softie with them, I've come to find out. Static man, they've called him. Dark, however, I have no idea if he would hurt or kill them and it's infuriating. So, Marv. . . what's the fooking plan? Better think of one before I charge"

"Alright, alright. . . . here's what I'll do"

They stared at each other for a few seconds, neither wavering from their decisions. Anti sighed, "You can't stop me. You've never been able to. Just let me do this, cape-boy"

Jackie clenched his teeth but didn't say anything more. He knew Anti was right.

They could only watch as Anti took hold of both ends of the cable. He shivered and clenched his eyes tight at the surge of power coming from them. He knew Jackie might just be right. . . . . but that didn't mean shit to him. He was too stubborn for his own good and he knew that if Chase was here, he'd point blank tell him that.

He started to flare up, glowing and sparking, the power coursing through him back through the transformers.

"Guh. . .ah!" he let out a few whimpers and grunts but wouldn't back down, growling with full-on stubbornness.
