i just wanna start this off by saying that i am not a k-pop stan. sure, i've listened to mamamoo a couple of times, nct once or twice but i'm not a k-pop stan if that makes sense.

if you're active on stan twitter, then you should know what a fancam is. if not, i'll do my best to explain; a fancam is usually a video centred on one individual who is usually dancing or singing ( usually a kpop idol ). now, though, the word fancam has been used as an umbrella term for edits, crack videos etc.

now, i'm just gonna say it now, i have no problem with fancams like at all ???? in fact i kinda love them tbh. like ur just vibin in a thread and BAM u see like,, idk, loona just boppin to one of their hits and ur like "okay this song kinda slaps???". i do think that sometimes, fancams aren't appropriate for certain threads but i dont rlly see a problem beyond that.

but let me just say, SO MANY people HATE fancams and i'm like "lmao ur rlly getting pressed over a cute video of a korean music group just vibin? damn." and i have noticed that the people who usually get pissed off are kinda,, dare i say,, racist ?!?!?

like, some people will be like "nobody wants to see ur shitty kpop video" but then they'll post a sabrina carpenter edit in the following tweet ?? like, what's so utterly intolerable abt kpop that you go out of your way to discourage people from posting their fancams, but its completely ok to post your fancam of harry styles on stage ?? i don't understand WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE.

idk its just so annoying to me that people will say k-pop edits are the worst but they see a 5sos edit and they'll be like WOW or ICONIC, or some people will deadass post like five minute clips of childhood cartoons ?!?!?!?! and everyone will be like HAHA SO NOSTALGIC.

i hate twitter damn.
