My schedule continued going like this for the last two weeks since the video call with Sophia and Tate.
We all worked double time to plan and figure out ways to get in.
"Almost done?" My father in law, which he asked me to call him walked into the room that Chance and I were in.
"Better be." Chance spoke from behind the mirror working on the wiring. Tabatha had told us about every nook and cranny that I didn't even know about in the organization. There were security cameras in everyone's rooms that went off in fifteen minutes all at the same time each day.
The cameras needed to reset, and to prevent blow ups it gave the system time to save it's energy. There was a room with unused mirrors that we planned on using to our advantage. If we couldn't sneak in using the outside doors we needed to get in from the inside.
Messiah needed to connect to a mirror of high quality from someone with power to be able to hack into their system. Carter would then use his hacking methods on a computer system shutting all the mirrors down, and frying them from the original system.
The mirrors would have to be replaced by the unused mirrors, giving us three minutes for Carter to reprogram the system, onto ours. We will then be able to transport the people from their location to our side of town.
The community was for the plan, and we were even taking volunteer positions for God forbid the plan went wrong, people would volunteer their life transporting themselves into the mirror and bringing people over.
This could only work if Chance could get the mirror to work, and he was sweating bullets trying to connect the mirror.
His father walked out and I shut my notebook with my practice speech for my communication class coming up. "Babe." I walked over.
"Hm." He kept on moving not giving me his full attention. He was moving so past in so few seconds I was scared that he was going to wear himself out.
"Breathe." I grabbed his face making him look down at me.
"I'm trying everything and this shit wont work." He sighed putting his forehead on mine. "What did you do last time that got the mirror to work?" I questioned making him take a seat. He needed a break.
" I punched the shit."
"So punch the shit." I laughed.
"I did when you went to get us some water. It ain't work." Rubbing my thumb on his hand I could see in his eyes how frustrated he was with this. He was worried about me, and there was so much relying on this. The whole community was relying on him getting this done. Tonight.
"Come on." I got up, dragging him up from his seat while I pulled on his hand.
"I can't go anywhere-"
"I said come on. You need to clear your head. Where just going for a little drive." Sucking his teeth he didn't put up a fight knowing I would ignore him anyway.
