S E V E N T E E N

I took one last look at myself in the mirror and smiled.

I straightened my dress one last time and reapplied my red lipstick.

I fixed one small piece of hair and walked down the stairs, my dress flowing behind me.

It was a dark red V neck dress, matched with gold heels and gold jewelry.

I did natural makeup and my hair curled with the two front pieces pulled back.

"Wow" I heard Zacks voice as I reached the bottom of the steps "you look beautiful"

I smiled. "Thank you"

I walked over to him and he kissed my cheek and placed the corsage on my wrist.

"Well just a few photos and you two can be on your way" my mom said grabbing her camera.

For the last on I placed my hand on his chest and kissed his cheek.

"Well have fun tonight" my mom said.

We nodded and walked out the door on our way to baysides prom.

"You really are breathtaking" Zack says as we stand together looking around at the prom.

I look up at him and smile "you look great too"

He nods.

You could basically feel the awkwardness and tension in the air.

I felt as if this was going to be one of the longest nights of my entire life.

"Wanna dance?" He asks putting out his hand for me to grab.

I nod and place my hand in his.

we walked to the dance floor holding hands.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and he placed his around my waist.

"this is just like old times, like when we were in Palm Springs" Zack said smiling at me.

"Ya it is" I nodded my head.

"I wish we could go back to the way things were then. I miss you so much" Zack admitted "I miss hanging out with everyone, but especially you"

"I hope that fifty bucks was worth it" I said sighing a little.

"It wasn't. I lost the best thing that ever happened to me"

"Hm and what was that?"

"The most amazing girl. She's perfect"

"Oh tell me more about this girl" I laughed a little.

Zack looked up at the ceiling. "She's got the most beautiful smile. She's smart, Kind and caring. She's a great kisser too"

"She seems amazing" I smirked.

"She is. I'd do anything to win this girl back"

"Well this girl feels the same way. I think you owe her an apology kiss." I mumbled.

"Ya I think I do" he said leaning in.

Our lips connected and it felt as if the world stopped and was putting itself back in place.

Once we disconnected I looked up at him.

"I'm sorry" he said. "For everything"

"Apology accepted" I sighed.

We leaned back in for another kiss.

I placed my hand on his cheek and he put both of his hands on my lower back.

"Just don't mess up again" I smiled at him.

"Never again" he said pulling me closer to him and hugging me.
