I could hear the bells sounding from the clock tower. I knew it wasn't the top of the hour, so something important must've happened. Then, I heard another sound. People on every corner, shouting:
"Long live the kingdom!"
"Joy to the King and Queen!"
"The Lux will live on! It's a boy! A boy!"
So it had happened. Queen Chelsea had given birth, and to a son, no less. The future of the kingdom was secure. I knew I'd better finish my business in the markets soon, as they were sure to shut down in celebration of the birth. Plus, the Ceremony of Light would need to be performed, and I, as Ray to the King, was the one for the task.
