"If: A reply to Pablo Neruda's "A Dog has Died"

If I am your Dog who had died,

I want to see how much gallons of tears you have cried.

Living in this world is a competition.

With that, thank you for your appreciation.

If I'm a nobody's dog, I'll wish to have you as my owner.

You care for your dog very much just like a lover.

I want someone like you beside me when I'm gone

For this world doesn't know how to have fun.

If I'm a fellow dog owner,

A dying dog is my fear.

I think I'll cry and whine,

For missing them is missing the sunshine.

If I am you, I'll still do the same.

I'll write a poem but not for fame.

Pens will cry due to my pain.

I'm hoping that this, won't go in vain.
