ashton was still shaken up. he's spent the last three days practically glued to michael's side. michael didn't mind, he would've been scared too. currently, the two were cuddled up on the living room couch, watching saturday morning cartoons.
"mike?" ashton almost whispered.
michael muted the tv, having a feeling that the conversation they were about to have would be a long one. "yeah?"
"who were you talking to last night?"
michael froze. did calum want ashton to know? "you, uh, you heard that?"
"yeah, i was gonna ask if i could lay with you, but you were talking to someone."
michael looked up, to see calum with a soft smile on his face. "i was talking to calum."
ashton frowned. "mikey, calum is g-"
"no, stop. he's here. he's dead, yeah. but he's not gone. stop, stop saying he's gone."
"i'm sorry, i'm sorry."
"calum, show him you're here," michael said, sitting up straight.
calum walked to stand in front of the tv. "hi, ashton."
"see?" michael announced proudly.
"see what?"
"calum, he's standing right there."
"michael, there's no one there."
"i-i'm looking right at him. he's in front of the tv."
"i don't see anyone, mike."
michael was confused. "calum, tell him you're here," he said again.
michael watched as calum walked closer to ashton. "ash, i'm right here."
"he's talking to you," michael said.
"i don't hear anything. he's not here."
"he's right here!"
"no, michael. calum is gone."
