Alex looks at his hoverboard, looking at its back fire design. He inhales deeply, throwing it to the ground and stepping onto it.
He looks into the distance, memories coming back.
A young salmonling looks at the inklings and octolings with a wide grin on his face.
He takes their money slowly, smirking to himself.
He had promised them many rare goods for their cash. But alas, he wasn't one for being a good person. He just wanted the money.
The salmonling looks the others in the eye and pulls out a small black ball with a lock on it.
They look confused and stared at the boy. He stepped back in the shadows, with only his sharp grin on his face. Suddenly, the fish boy throws the bomb down, giving off a giant cloud of smoke that lasted a few seconds.
The kids look around. Even when the smoke was away, he was nowhere to be seen. The kids stopped their feet realizing they got scammed, growling.
Word about this boy spread around fast, and eventually the sight of a salmonling struck fear in the hearts of some young inklings and octolings.
The salmon boy laughed to himself when he went home every night, knowing how much he made.
Alex, present day, touches his chest, remembering the days where he was the bad bitch of the block. But seeing the others....it struck him too hard. He whispered to himself "..I'm glad I changed my shit..."
He starts up his hoverboard, floating around the alleyway and empty street.
He realized he was alone, so he did something he rarely ever did. Something Alexis taught him to do when things hurt him inside.
"I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own.."
He stops by a broken, abandoned mirror.
"I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing
Now the old king is dead, long live the king"
Alex looked to the right of him, seeing a stack of worn out, old money.
"One minute I held the key...
Next the walls were closing on me
And i discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand"
He lifts his hoverboard a little, sitting on the close fence, looking at a clock.
"I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Calvary choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword, and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
Once you go there was never, never an honest word..
And that was when I ruled the world..."
He sighs and looks down
"It was a wicked and wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
People couldn't believe what I'd become
Revolutionaries wait...
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string...
Oh, who would ever want to be king?
I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing
Roman Calvary choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword, and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
I know Saint Peter won't call my name
Never an honest word
But that was when I ruled the world..."
Alex jumps down onto the other side of the fence, started his hover board again.
He stands on top of a light fixture with it, sighing. The clock chimes 9:00.
