The sound of my phone woke me up. I looked at the time. 2:57 am.

Who calls at this time? Maybe Scott... it's like noon in Germany already.

It was Kirstie. My heart started beating faster. Seriously dude..? Gosh!

I answered the call.

“Avi?”, a weak voice asked.

“Hey Kirstie... How are you feeling?”, I asked.

“Not good... not good at all...”, she said barely audible. “Can you come over please?”

“Well, sure! Of course. I'll be there in a second...”, I said, already putting on my pants. I didn't care that it was 3 am. My little Kirstie wasn't feeling good and I would be there for her.

“Thank you...”, and then she hung up. Poor Kirstie.

I drove as fast as possible, still trying not to break too many laws. She sounded so weak and sick. As I arrived I rang the doorbell and waited... It took a little while, but eventually a small, sweaty, weak, tired and just... really sick figure opened the door.

“Thank god...”, she sighed and fell against my chest, wrapping her arms around my torso. “Kill me, please...”, she whined. I chuckled slightly.

“I'm not gonna kill you...”, I took her face in my hands to turn her face up. “Oh my gosh... Kirstie, you are glowing!”, she had her eyes closed, lips slightly parted, beads of sweat were running down her face and she was shivering. It's worse that I thought. She looks... terrible. I picked her up bridal style and carried her into her bedroom. I laid her down carefully. She was still shivering.

“I'm so cold Avi...”, she whined, weak and hoarse.

“I know...”, I whispered. I stroked a streak of her blonde hair out of her face. It was sticking to her sweaty, hot face. Worst influenza I have ever seen.

“Just... try to sleep a bit...”, I kissed her forehead and tugged the blanket up to her cheeks. She'll have to sweat it out I guess... I felt so bad. She was so sick and I couldn't do anything about it.She started groaning and turning a lot. I was getting nervous.

“Avi... Avi please help me...”, she whispered... I looked at her. A nightmare? She groaned again. “Aviii...”, she whined.

Okay that's it! I can't let her suffer any longer! I grabbed my jacket, my keys and her keys and went to my car. I'm going to buy some medicine. Ibuprofen. Antibiotics. All that good stuff.

I came back into Kirstie's apartment, just to hear coughing and gagging noises from the bathroom. Oh my GOSH! How can someone possibly be so sick? Why her? Why Kirstie? I don't like seeing her like this.

“Kirstie?”, I asked as I slowly walked into her bathroom. She was hugging the toilet seat and her head slowly turned in my direction. She had tears in her eyes. No, I DEFINITELY don't like seeing her like this.

“Oh Kirstie...”, I walked over to her and rubbed her back. “It's going to be better soon...”

“Why are you lying? I feel like I was hit by a fucking train!”, she was even hoarser than before. She suddenly swung her arms around my neck and buried her face in my shoulder.

“Help me Avi! Please, just kill me!”, she cried.

“I bought some pills. Take them and you'll feel better soon”, I held her tight.

“Okay...”, she sighed. She looked up at me. “Thank you, Avi...”

“Anytime!”, I said.

I helped her up and we walked into the kitchen. She sat at the table and held her forehead with her hands. I grabbed the pills and handed them to her with a big glass of water.

“Thanks”, she mumbled and took the pills.

“Okay. Now you'll go to bed young lady”, I chuckled.

“Carry me!”, she stretched out her arms.

“As long as you don't call me daddy...”, I chuckled, picked her up bridal style and carried her. I put her in her bed, kissed her forehead and said good night.

I went to her living room and laid on the couch. I was so tired, I immediately fell asleep.
