"Why did you say my suit looks like pajamas? It doesn't even make sense dude."
Nikolas swallowed his laugh.
"Yes it does."
Peter had put on his homemade suit, the one with fabrics and some visors that he had in his closet. When Nikolas saw him, he couldn't help but make fun of him, which irritated Peter and it showed in his face. Putting his hands on his waist as he thought of some good argument to defend himself, his eyes widened as he saw that the opposite person was undressing, throwing his shirt across the room, leaving only the pants that covered that part of his body.
"Oh great, now you get naked?" Peter rolled his eyes at him.
"I don't need a suit, but I don't want to rip up the only change of clothes I have either."
Nikolas walked past him giving Peter a glance over his shoulder before walking away as he cracked his neck and warmed his shoulders. Peter couldn't help but look at his back and all those scars that covered it, but especially a big one that marked from the arm to the waist. He looked up seeing Tony watching them from behind the glass window holding a tablet in his hands.
"Listen, I've done this test thousands of times. So just follow my lead, okay?"
Peter stopped when his spider sense began to move throughout his body spreading a sense of danger. It wasn't because of the robots, the reason was simple: his new partner had fallen to his knees twisting some human extremities.
Some bones came out of his chest lining up with the scars he had. The hatches in the walls opened and the training machines came out like replicas of Tony's old suits. Without warning, Nikolas stretched out an arm from which thorns came off and pierced the mechanism of one of them.
Peter gasped in amazement. Nikolas released the rest of the robot and headed for Parker yelling in a hoarse voice "FOCUS", pushing him to the ground when he saw a fake plasma bullet headed for the arachnid. Peter jumped up scaling the walls and landing with a kick that would leave a bruise on his foot but the machine without an arm.
His webs caught 2 of them and Nikolas pounced on that wild part of him thinking they were fresh human bodies. Tony seemed to notice that something was beginning to go wrong.
The targets had fallen, making his mentor proud was something Peter promised himself to do until his spider senses warned him of an attack close to him, which he stopped with ease.
"A-AGGHH" He said as he stopped Nikolas's fist, his hand started to hurt, his feet slip and that made him not underestimate his strength. "Same side, r-remember? MR.STARK!
Nikolas threw Peter to the walls then standing on top of him with his hand raised where it barely had claws sticking out of it, ready to rip Peter's face apart. He threw a spider-web at the threatening hand and Nikolas turned to see at the substance with his dark eyes looking interested. Peter took advantage of the distraction and kicked him in the chest to get him off.
Nikolas brought his covered hand to the area where he was kicked and blinked several times. He fell to the ground and crawled to the corner as if it were the room where two nights ago he had killed.
Peter swallowed hard taking off his mask watching as he slowly reverted to his human form, as the bones that sprouted went back inside covered in scars.
"Well, clearly there are some details that we need to correct, and control for others." Tony said from the speaker. "But for a start? You guys weren't too bad.
When Nikolas returned to his full consciousness, he picked up the shirt on the floor and went to where before training they told him where the preparation room was. Peter followed him; finding him covering his back with bandages.
"It was kind of amazing, scary but surprising." Peter crossed his arms and leaned against the doorway as he watched.
"I hear that word all the time." Nikolas muttered. "Scary." He raised his hand with the spiderweb. "And now I just have to wait for this to dissolve.
Peter was embarrassed.
"I'm Peter by the way." he said offering a hand. "Parker.
Nikolas watched his hand for a few seconds, analyzing what he intended.
"I already know your name."
"Come on man, I think we started off on the wrong foot, don't you think?" Peter smiled waving his hand again. "We'll be partners for a long time so we'd better get along, I can get a little overprotective in some ways with Mr. Stark but it's just that ---- H-He helped me, okey? But I'm sorry about the other day.
"Nikolas." He finally answered, taking his hand.
Peter felt his skin cracked and dry.
"How does it sound to you a sandwich from Delmar?"
"Delmar?" Nikolas asked after letting go of his hand.
"The best sandwiches in Queens."
