It bursts from just a tiny spark
It festers- creeping in on you- until it hits its mark
Hysteria and entropy
Chaos among all of humanity
Fear is crippling
A contagion
A virus on its own
It thrives in darkness
In its own void
And we coddle and welcome it
Embrace it like a small child
While it claws us hard
Attacking us from the inside
We do not see nor hear its ugly whispers
We do not smell its horrid smell
The odor purely dark
We are our fears
We are our children
We incite it and bring it on us
We are the darkness we abhor
