"I'll make a file for you so you don't have to take these papers home. Welcome to the team Amy." He said extending his hand and shaking my hand.

 "Thank you Hoppo." I said smiling.

After a few more minutes of talking to Hoppo, he told me to go to the tower. He put me on patrol with Glick He radioed him to come pick me up in 20 mins at the tower giving me enough time to change into my lifeguard outfit.

Which technically was only me taking off my denim shorts  and putting on my lifeguard shit on over my black one piece swimsuit.

I got to the tower, ran to the change rooms and got ready quickly.

Ready to start work I walked up into the tower and helped the boys with tower duty until Glick came and picked me up in the rhino.

I watched the water as whippet helped with a first aid. I saw Glick pull up by the tower and I jumped up taking my radio with me. I handed the binoculars to whippet. "Ok Whip I'm heading down. Glick is here." I said walking out. 

"Okay see you after your shift."

I ran down the steps to where he parked. I jumped in the rhino. 

"Hey partner." He said with a laugh as he fest bumped with me. 

"Heeeyy. What's the first thing on agenda?" I said as he started up the rhino and drove to south Bondi. 

"Well when we do patrols we have to pay attention to not only the surroundings and the water but also the radio just in case boys need backup." He explained. 

"Oh ok makes sense. So we just drive around?" I questioned with raised eyebrows. 

"Not necessarily but yea pretty much drive around and help who needs help." He replied chuckling as he started to drive further down the beach. 

For the next hour we just drove around shouting at people to swim in between the flags. It was going well. All of the sudden there was a voice over the radio. 

"Bondi central to blue rhino, there are a few heads floating to your right there I don't see a hand up but might want to check it out." Whippet said over the radio. 

"Ok mate we will go in see what's up." Glick replied back.

 "So...ready for your first rescue?" He said looking at me with a smirk. 

"Hell yea. Just watch my back." I exclaimed. 

Excited to be doing my very first rescue I jumped out of the rhino pulling off my shirt throwing it on my seat along with my radio. I grabbed the huge board and started running towards the water.

I ran in the cool water throwing the board in front of me and jumping on it. I started to paddle as fast as I could to get thought the crashing waves. Waves came coming at me pushing me back but I got through them. I paddled out and got closer and closer to the group of young guys. All tattooed head to toe and buffed up. Not gonna lie not the first rescue I'd imagined but it's my job and I tend to do it perfectly. I stopped paddling and sat up and looked back for a split second realizing how far out they were. 

" Hey guys you're very far back you should get closer to the beach. Do you need any help?" I asked.

"Naah we're good." One of the boys said. 

"Ok but still please get closer to the beach it's very dangerous here." I replied. 

" only if you give me a kiss hot stuff." One of the guys said. 

"Sorry boys cant do that. Now swim towards the beach." I replied with a stern face nodding my head to the beach. 

"You know what? I think I'm gonna take that help you offered" one of the boys said with an evil smile.
