Start from the beginning

"Dude. I know you like her for years now. What are you gonna do about it?" asked Jamal.

"How do you know that?!" asked Ruby with wide eyes.

"Nobody didn't mention it." said Jamal and Ruby gave him an annoyed face.

"What? It's true. I think you should go after somebody who is interested in you." said Jamal and put his half drunk smoothie next to him on the edge of the pool.

"Yeah, you're right. What was I thinking? I want to be with a girl who likes me for me." said Ruby smiling with pride.

"Hey Ruby." said Jasmine as she rubs sunscreen over her chest in slow motion making Ruby and Jamal shake their bodies in disgust in the pool.

"Nevermind about that. I want to be with Y/N but I don't know what to do." said Ruby. Before Jamal responded, Jasmine called out to him and Jamal turned his head to Jasmine.

"Kendra texted you." said Jasmine and Jamal quickly jumped out of the pool and ran over to his phone dripping wet.

"Jamal!" shouted Ruby, making Jamal turn to him.

"Good luck." said Jamal and he quickly grabbed his belongings and ran into the men's changing room.

"Dude forgot his cooler...again." thought Ruby in annoyance and he got out of the pool with his smoothie.

-

"See you Cesar!" you said with a smile making Cesar turned back to you with his amazing smile and leaving Ruby's front door.

You, Ruby, and the rest of the gang just came back from the community pool and went to Ruby's house to wait for their rides home. You were the only one left.

Ruby was so happy that he finally got you alone right now. After what he saw at the pool, he decides what he should do before it's too late.

Ruby came back over to you on the main coach of the living room with your favorite snack and drink.

"Ruby...awe you didn't have to do this." you said with a warm smile as Ruby sat back down next to you and handed your plate of your favorite snack to you.

You grabbed it and started eating as Ruby grabbed his plate and drank on the coffee table in front of him.

You giggled as you watched your favorite new show that's on Netflix while eating your snack.

Ruby started to take glances at you as he took real time to notice every little feature and detail on your face.

"Ruby?" you asked and Ruby jumped out of his stare and looked at you with wide eyes.

"You okay?" you asked uncertainty and Ruby quickly turned off the TV which made you take notice quickly.

"Rue, what's goi-"

"I like you."

Your eyes widened by his answer which made your mind start to flow with different kinds of thoughts in your head.

"I like you. A lot. Ever since I met you. I wanted to tell you that before I'm too late." Ruby confessing and you were still surprised by his answer.

"Ruby..."

"No. I understand. You don't like me and it's fine." said Ruby making you upset.

"Ruby, I do like you...just not that way." you said with a soft smile which made Ruby have his eyes down to the floor.

"Hey...are we good?" you asked and Ruby moved away from you on the couch and sat on the couch facing straight without looking at you.

"Yeah we're good. You started dating Cesar. What's more to talk about?" said Ruby with a straight face and you looked at him upset.
