Chapter 2

Brody Parker's POV

Why would I need to come here? I was sitting in the shadows of the forest that lined a quiet road. I just felt a sudden...urge to come to this place. It was like my mind just shut off and let my body do the rest.

A golden laugh drifted through my thoughts.

I snapped my head up and saw a sight that took my breathe away. A girl who looked to be about 18 was sorting through things in her car. With my ultra-keen werewolf senses, how did I not notice the sound of a car driving up? I guess I must have been really out of it....

As I glanced at the pile she was making, I realized that she must be going camping. When she shut her car doors and locked it up, her pile of equipment was still very small. As I watched her double-check everything, I noticed many things she was missing. She had no tent, no fire starter, very little water, no food. But she had seeds....not seeds that you could eat, but ones that were strictly for planting. Either she was a very stupid and inexperienced camper(which I highly doubted) or she was something much more unusual....nevertheless, I was going to follow her to find out.

I'm sure that's not the only reason you're going to follow her.....

"Stupid conscience," I muttered under my breathe.

You know it's true....

"Whatever," I mumbled.

The girl stood in the middle of the road, as if contemplating which side she should take. As the wind suddenly shifted course, her sent was blown straight into my face.

Her scent was absolutely mouthwatering. It made me breathless. She smelled like....sunlight and midnight, at the same time. Sweet, but not sickly sweet. Intoxicating. Like orange blossoms and roses. Like every great smelling thing in the world mixed together to make and even greater smell.

I had to follow her. My body would simply no allow it if I didn't. She finally picked the side opposite of the one I was at. Immediately, I started following her. I couldn't ever get enough of that smell.

After about a four hours of walking, a strayed a little closer. And a little more. And just a few steps closer. I was now about ten feet behind her. I was walking lightly, just in case she did turn out to be non-human and have ultra-keen senses like mine. She didn't ever stop or slow her pace.  She didn't her, see, or 'feel' me walking behind her.

Well, that was true until she turned suddenly and looked straight at me.
