The street lights are faintly glowing as the sound of the wind hustling and bustling is slightly heard. Darkness is slowly falling as the sun hasn't completely set. I kick the stones in front of me. The feeling of being abandoned and rejected was taking over me. I didn't give it much attention but I knew it was killing me softly.

I come to the realization that Alexia would be at home. Crap, I couldn't walk in on dad and his gf especially after I had told them I had left the house purposely so that they could be alone. I decide to wait around till it was about 7:30-8ish till I could make my way home and show up at the door.

I walk around till I stumble upon a small, secluded park off in the corner. It seems pretty shady and gloomy at first sight as not a single soul is to be seen. I'm not sure if I should walk in as anyone with the right mind wouldn't enter so I just sit on the curb outside it with my head down.

After what had felt like a million hours, I look up to find something beside me. Something strange had made its way and cuddled up right next to my left thigh. I look down to see a small furry ball. I slowly stand up and look over to find that it's a baby kitten. Not knowing if he/she belonged to anyone I pick it up gently. It's little, sleepy eyes look up at me as a small piece of metal shines. It's a name tag saying "Vega". This little cutie actually belonged to someone and the poor thing had probably gotten lost or snuck away from home. I could feel her slightly shivering as I brought her closer into my arms and tucked her in my flannel to give her some warmth.

I took her home and upto my room where I made her a small bed. It was a challenge sneaking up a bowl of milk but I managed to do it as she finished it pretty fast. I sat there just staring at her. It amazed me how a small creature like her made me smile. I didn't feel as rejected and abandoned as the little bundle brought me joy. I lifted her from her bed and put her on my pillow. She let out a quiet meow and huddled herself into a ball. I laid down beside her and without a worry in the world, for the first time I felt like I had a friend.
