Going through dad's stuff made me wonder why he kept all these things, all these years. Like was he saving them to show me ? Was I supposed to inherit those cameras and treasure those pictures. I hadn't gone through all the boxes but I figured there'd definitely be things I wouldn't wanna keep with me forever. But I went back to find a few polaroids and an old Canon Ae-1. I gently dusted a few off and put them to the test. Obviously they didn't work so I took them to a store down the street. It was kinda like a 7-eleven but it had like a mini hardware store where you could get stuff repaired. Long story short, I got a few them fixed but some couldn't be revived.

I stepped out onto the patio deck and sat down on a small, one person hammock. The breeze was light, the sky's were clear and the tree leaves were a beautiful orangish-brown color. I sat down and just stared at the sky. I took my camera out and snapped a picture. Instantly, a black film came out of a little opening in the camera. A few minutes later the image showed up. It was perfect. It captured the blue sky, the orangish-brown leaves and a few birds soaring. It was definitely a keeper so I decided to add it to the box, along with dad's polaroid images. It was relaxing and I enjoyed it. Sure, the film was hella expensive but using it to capture memories is worth it right? I mean a picture is a thousand words.

I'd take photographs like these many times throughout the day...Things I did, people I'd see, simply even nature and it's great beauty...What I liked about taking these pictures was that it brought me so much closer to reality. The photograph captured a moment, that's now gone forever, impossible to reproduce.
