Chapter 4= The Change

Today is my birthday. But I am not really big on, my birthday or celebrating it. Waking up to no one being home -huh strange they must be out doing something- Grabbing the box of fruit loops. Making breakfast in the kitchen.

I feel a pain going through my body, hearing my bones crack -what's going on?- Falling to the floor, in pain. I start screaming in agony "someone help me!!" Hearing footsteps running into the kitchen. To see my mom. Running into the kitchen "Honey omg! It's happening! Jared!"

My eyes starting to get hazy "Mom it hurts!" she looks at me "It's okay sweetheart. It's okay!"  I start crying "please make it stop!" My dad runs in. My mom looks up at him "it's happening"

My dad runs into this office. My mom saying soothing words to me. My dad coming back "I got them on the phone. Their on the way"

I scream hearing my bones crack. Fur coming through my skin, my nails growing out into claws. My mom holding my hand. Right there with me. I scream as I turn into a wolf. Shaking out my fur. Looking around confused + Finally I get to meet you. Hi My name is Rain +

I look around frightened "who are you?" Rain giggles + I am your wolf silly + Well that explains the fur, and me on four legs. I look over at my dad.

Looking at me with a shocked expression +He is shocked. That you're a rare white wolf. You're the last of your kind + "i'm the last of my kind. What do you mean?" Rain sighs + It means there is no more. White wolves in any wolf packs. You're the last +

My dad walks over to me "shift back we need to talk" I nod my head. My mom wrapping me up into a hug. My dad sighs " Do you know why. I made us move, to another state and town?" I shake my head no.

My dad looks at my mom "it's cause I am a wolf. Your mom is too. We moved here, so you could be around other wolves your age. Maybe find a mate" -Mate whats a mate?-

Rain giggles + a mate is like your soul mate + I look over at my parents confused. My dad gets up looking out the window "your wolf is really rare sweetheart. All the white wolf bloodlines, or genes are known to be dead or killed off in battle"

"if that's true than why do I have the gene?" My dad looks at me "you have it. Cause your grandma. Your moms, mom was a white wolf. A really strong one too" I look at him "so where is my grandma?" My mom cries a little "she died in the Wolf War a very long time ago"

Rain whimpers sighing + well there goes. Talking to her about anything + I shrug. My mom looking at me "oh I got something for you. Be right back!" She smiles running into the other room.

Coming back with a small box "your grandma would of wanted you to have it" I glance up at her opening it. Seeing a beautiful necklace, with a howling wolf charm on it. My mom starts to cry "my mom gave it to me on my birthday. Now it's my turn, to give it to you"

Rain smiles + The necklace is a tradition. Our grandma wore it, when she first shifted. It's a family tradition + "well that makes sense" My dad glances at my mom - What are they not telling me - My dad says "as a white wolf you can't go out alone Shirley. Just remember that okay?" I shake my head agreeing with him.

My mom gasps "omg sweetie, we're late!" my dad looks at his watch "well damn you're right" My mom looks at me "go get dressed honey okay?" I look at her confused "where are we going?" my dad glances at me "the Alpha of Scarlett Pack. Is throwing a party, for us. Joining the pack" - the pack?- Rain sighs + All wolves run in packs.
