flowers in the window

have you ever thought about watering the flowers in your window?
because you say, everyday,
that there's no need to spend time worrying over something so insignificant
when the rain will simply
wash their drought away the next day,

but maybe there'd be no need for drought
if you'd gotten a watering can
that could just take the pain away.

maybe then - if you thought
just a little bit harder -
you'd choose to take care of me
just the same (with a little bit more care and precision).

because i may get just enough love from those of whom i love dearly,
but maybe
- just maybe -
i'd begin to flourish,
if you gave me some too.
