(5) Bucky's Week of Bad Luck

Monday

It was the following Monday Bucky had thought with some time. Alexis would be over the whole thing so he walked up to her that morning.

"Alexis?" He said

She just ignored him. "Alexis I have apologized. I waited for you here for 2 hours Saturday." He said

She slammed her locker and walked off. He sighed as he walked off to his locker. Weston came up to him. "You alright dude?'

"Yeah Im great." Bucky said as they walked off to first period.

That night Bucky's parents were at Olive Garden with James' parents. As they were waiting for their food Vivian saw Alexis at the to go counter.

"I will be right back." Vivian said

She walked over to Alexis. "Lex honey." Vivian said

"Oh..hi Vivian." She said

"I know this probably isn't the best place to ask. But what happened sweetheart? What did my grandson do?" Vivian said

Alexis looked down as tears welled. She walked over to her and whispered "he tried to sleep with me at the drive in. And when I didnt give in he left me in my car and told me to go home."

Vivian closed her eyes and shook her head. "Hartley." The cashier said

Alexis took her bag of food said goodbye to Vivian as she left. Vivian sat back down at the table.

"What did she say?" James said

"You need to teach your son the importance of the word no. He tried to force himself on Alexis." Vivian said

James sighed. "Are you fucking kidding me?' James said

"Nope.." Vivian said as they finished their dinner.

When they returned home James went straight upstairs. He walked into Bucky's room.

"You go home..James get dressed and go downstairs." James said when he saw Bucky and his girl of the night in his bed.

Nyla kissed him and left. "Ever heard of knocking." Bucky said

James grabbed his ear "This is my house and I dont have to knock." He said as he dragged him downstairs.

"What the hell have I done now?" Bucky said as he sat on the couch.

"You tried to force sex on Alexis?!" James said

Bucky swallowed hard. "I..well I just um. Yes..but I have since apologized to her." He said

"Son..when a girl says stop or no that doesn't mean to keep trying." James said

Bucky looked down. "I know that." He said

"I hope you have learned your lesson." Winnie said

"Yes ma'am.." he said

"Take a shower and go to bed." James said

"Yes sir." He said as he headed upstairs.

Tuesday

The next day Bucky was sitting in Economics class. When his teacher Mrs Quinn Latham was passing out their graded papers.

"Mr Barnes see me after class so we can discuss your paper." Mrs Latham said

He rolled his eyes and waited for everyone to leave. She came over to his desk and laid it down on his desk.

"I expected better James." Mrs Latham said
