Chapter seven

Dark

The Cavern was warmer than outside, but I’m surprised I could last so long in a

freezing blizzard. The Cave was huge, water dripping down the rocky halls. Nicolette

would’ve loved it, she’s always wanted to go spelunking. Torches illuminated the walls

letting me see to the end. It’s huge, warm, and well maybe safe. It’d be a great place to

stay and rest. If we had time… I let go of Anthony’s hand and grabbed a light torch. It’s

burning flames giving me some welcomed heat. I nodded to everyone to follow. I walked

down further into the cave breathing in the scent of… the ocean? Can this get any

weirder?

Oh don’t worry my sweet, it will. A voice whispered in my ear, I knew this voice

by now, Ellie. Get out of my head! I shouted in thought. I hate this thing! I wish we

would’ve never had a party! Argh! I shook my head trying to shake the thoughts out.

Somewhere ahead I spotted a light, the cool breath of the ocean whistled by, reminding

me of times when I was younger and My family and I visited Newfoundland. “Hey are

you alright?” Anthony whispered wrapping his arm around my shoulder soothingly.

“Yeah, just a little shaken.” I mumbled as we stopped just in front of the entrance to… St. Pierre? We walked out to a long sandy beach that seemed to stretch out from miles.

About half a dozen colourful boats skilful placed on wooden planks so that would not

drift away. The sun was setting in the background. I would’ve taken my shoes of and let

my toes nestle into the sand, if it was real, who knows what hideous creatures lurch in it.

“Your going for a swim, if you leave your clothes here I’ll make sure they are nice, warm

and safe, for all of you when you get out, you have my word” Ellie’s voice echoed

through the vast ocean whooshing past all of us as if on an air current. He had to keep his

word, he’s the son of the devil! The Devil keeps his words. I took my clothes off until I

was just in my under where and walked towards the Ocean shore. It’s now or never…

Kat’s body was the most elegant, and beautiful thing I’ve ever seen besides her

face. She was left in her underwear with her milk chocolate hair flowing with the wind.

Her shoulder blades poking out a bit as she crossed her arms across her chest. She walked

towards the shore as if unsure, She looked back at me, her eyes usual pale topaz were

turned up a notch and were now the color of pale gold. Solid. I smiled to encourage her

and stripped all off but my boxers. I looked behind to see to seeSabrina, Mike and Kaydon do

the same. We’ve all gone swimming together so it wasn’t that big of a deal. A blast of

light exploded in the middle of the ocean, I moved my arm up to my eyes as a shield.

When the glare disappeared. A navy blue door hovered above the still waves. I narrowed

my eyes to see the words “find me” etch onto the wooden, you could tell there was blood

on it even from this distance. Kat stared at it in awe, “That’s our way out we need to go

To it!” she exclaimed, she began stepping into the water, but before we could do anything

the door dropped into the water with a huge splash. Sinking to the shallow ocean floor.

“We can get to it,” Mike said , walking towards Kat. Kaydon ,Sabrina and I followed. Kat

nodded and held her hand out for me. My heart swelled, She wants to hold me hand! I

smiled and took hold of it. Sabrina held onto her other hand. And we all linked hands. We

looked at each other silently, “I love you all,” Kat whispered before stumbling into the water.
