Yoongi

Lunch, how I detested this 45 minutes of the day.  I hated being forced to sit in this foul-smelling room overfilled with screaming teenagers and raging hormones.  I hated being in this building in general, I'd rather be at home.  I stood in the line, hands in my pockets as I rocked back and forth.  "Oh, Yoongi! Your mom brought your smoothie today, here."  I forced a smile to the lunch lady as she unsuspectingly handed me a water bottle full of blood.

"Thanks, Cindy." I nodded at the register lady and went on my way.  I took a quick glance around the cafeteria and slipped out into the hall. "Finally, some peace and quiet" I muttered to myself, slipping in my earbuds and hitting play on my playlist.  I bobbed my head to the beat of my music, walking slowly down the hall with my lunch in hand.  Taking a large gulp from the bottle, I sighed to myself.  I miss pizza.  I had just closed the lid on my bottle when suddenly a girl came out of nowhere and slammed into me.  "Goddammit, Where's Hoseok when I need his ass." I growled, launching myself up from the floor and glaring at the fallen human. "Watch where you're going,  you'll damage your soft human body." I stepped over her scattered things and continued my walk down the hallway.

"Soft, my ass.  You won't be saying that when I slam my fist into your stupid face," she grumbled, gathering her things from the floor.

"I'm sorry, did you just threaten me." It'd been at least a century since someone had the courage to do such a thing. I put my earbuds in my jacket pocket and leaned back into the air, arms crossed over my chest.  "Amusing."

I watched her back as she tensed.  "Just go away. If you don't plan to help me pick up this mess you made then I don't need you around."

"I most certainly do not plan to help you clean up the fallen items you dropped when you so rudely crashed into me so suddenly.  Pay attention to your surroundings and you wouldn't be in this situation."

"You crashed into me."  She stood up, eyes dark with irritation. "Now if you'll excuse me." She spun on her heel and began speed walking in the opposite direction.

I grinned, "I think things here in this miserable school building just got so much more interesting." Far more interesting than being back at my kingdom.

Y/N

"Urg, just who does that guy think he is? A prince?" I scoffed. "What an arrogant prick." It'd be in my best interest to avoid him at all costs. I sighed as I pulled out my schedule and glanced over it tiredly.  "Room 23 b..." I watched the signs beside doors as I made my way down the currently empty hall.  19, 20, 21, annnd 22! The name Mrs. Kim was engraved on a silver sign screwed into the door. "I found it!" I grinned victoriously as I walked in, bowing in greeting towards the teacher.  "Annyeonghaseyo, uh, I'm the new student, y/n..."

My confidence quickly faded as I stared at the young, vibrant teacher.  "Ah, Miss Baek! Go ahead and pick a seat, I'll get you today's papers!"

"O-okay" I smiled at sat at the desk closest to her seat, a smart choice for myself I've come to find.  I used to sit in the back all my life, but last year during my time as I Junior I discovered all too late that if you sit by the teacher you can ask her questions without moving.  I hated having to move through the room to ask questions, as well as raising my hand, so this is beneficial for me.  I used to just not ask questions at all to save myself the panic attack.

As I got situated, the bell rang and she showed up with a couple of papers. "Here you go.  I'll put you in on my seating chart, it happens to be perfect that no one sits here! Nice choice.

Kids began to flood into the room, ones I've previously had classes with waving at me on the way to their seats.  I fidgeted with my fingers as she set up her lesson on the board for the day, internally screaming when the last person I ever wanted to see walked in.  "No" I muttered helplessly.

He grinned and sat down right next to me, an alarm going off inside my head as all my little internal workers ran around screaming.  I felt like paperwork was flying everywhere in my brain. "Fancy seeing you, here, in my class, right now."

"Yeah, so fancy." I put a hand over the right side of my face, blocking myself from his view.  I heard him chuckle and tensed.  Just ignore him and he'll leave you alone.  I rolled my eyes at my own pathetic advice. Yeah that'll work.  Just act like a cockroach.  If you don't move, he can't see you.

I wanted to run away and never come back to this school ever again.  Couldn't his seat have at least been in the back right corner, very far away from me?

And as I thought there was no way things could possibly get any worse, the cheesiest thing had to happen.  As though I'd just stepped straight out of a soapy TV drama, the teacher announced we were to work in pairs with the people beside us; to make sure we all got the point, she continued speaking. "For example, everyone in row one-" She gestured to me and everyone behind me. "You're all partnered with the people to your right, in row two.  Row three, same for you and row four."

I could feel his honey brown eyes burning into my hand as he tried to make eye contact.  Giving in, I turned to glare at him.  Rather than what I expected, I came nose to nose with the annoying raven-haired boy and lost the ability to exhale.  He smirked and I shot away from him into the bar on the side of my desk.   "Faaan-fecking-tastic."

My day couldn't possibly have gotten any worse.
