the earth is my muse.
i spend days watching it,
in awe at the sway of rolling clouds
that flash with purple electricityand seas that change color
with the wind
calm blues
roaring greens.i've seen angrier clouds;
ones of smoke and destruction
that leaves everything looking gray
and dull and deadbut most heartbreaking of all?
i've seen snow melt
and glaciers disappear.i used to love them, you know.
i still love them.snowfall meant my birthday.
the earth would gleam like a star,
and twinkle with an icy light
that filled me with unending joynow, the white is only a sliver
of what it once was.
sometimes my birthday never happens
and i don't get a chance to make the
three wishes i so carefully choseso, if you're on earth,
please protect your planet.
it's beauty is rare and fragileand, it's the only planet you can survive on.
— i wish you could see what i see.
