(Uhm, no. I'm fine. May problema ba?) Napakunot ang noo ko. Eleanor's really unpredictable. You think you know her then you'll realize you don't. Hindi ko naman alam kung ano bang sasabihin ko sa kanya.
"Forget it."
(Tsk, spill it Chance.) She urged. Napatahimik ako bago magsalita.
"Fine. Monique and Lourd is getting married in less than a month now and they're asking me to help them...." I trailed off. There I've said it, my twin brother is getting married to the woman I loved. I just don't know if I'm still in love with her.
I hope not.
I don't want to look like a bitter bastard on their wedding day.
(Oh, I see. Gusto mong samahan kita? Wala pa naman akong gagawin. Icacancel ko na lang yung pagsama sa party nung friend ko.) I made a face. She's been partying again.
"No, I'm good. Sumama ka na lang sa friend mo." My voice was colder than usual.
Eleanor snorted, (It's just some crazy night and never pa akong naka-witness ng preparations for a wedding so I wanna come. I'll be there in your office in 20.)
"Wait, what?" Ito pa ang hirap sa kanya. She just makes decisions on the last minute kahit wala naman sa plano niya yun. Can't she just plan things?
(I've said it already. See you later!! Bye Chance baby.) She ended the call. Napatingin naman ako sa kawalan. Dahan-dahan kong binaba yung phone at nilapag sa table.
I was about to close my eyes because I've been so busy lately working for the Thailand offer when my phone vibrated. It was a text message from Marie Fier.
Chance, will you be here? Mom's looking for you. But if you can't come and help us, I'll understand. I know you're in a tough situation. F
I read the message thrice before deciding to reply.
I'll be there. Just don't expect anything from me.
I turned my phone off afterwards at nagtrabaho na uli. Ganito naman palagi ang ginagawa ko. I'll drown myself with the paperworks to forget my problems for a while. Minsan dinadaan ko sa pag-inom but it doesn't get me that far at wala naman akong matatapos if I'll get myself wasted in a bar. I'd rather do my job and keep this company.
"Sir Chance?" I looked up to see Claire standing by the door.
"What" I asked glumly.
"Uhm, nasa labas po si Miss Eleanor." She glanced at her back bago ako tingnan.
"Okay, let her in then re-schedule my appointments later. May pupuntahan kami." She nodded obediently bago lumabas ng office at sinundan ng pagpasok ni Eleanor looking great as usual.
