Chapter Four.

"Miss Friendship"

-A Week Later-

I became busy with all the meetings and deals I needed to close with our business partners. If work was hard for me before, it was a whole lot harder now because I've been promoted as the CEO. The whole company's future is on my shoulders now. For some reason, I was only waiting for the day wherein I'm supposed to meet Eleanor.

She's an annoying but also an amusing kind of distraction. And maybe that's what I needed right now, a distraction. I hate to admit this but I was a little excited to see Eleanor again. It's crazy but it's true. Our first meeting was messed-up but I found myself wanting to see her again. Ganoon pala kalaki ang epekto niya sa tao―specifically, me.

And well, when I said that we'll be meeting next week, Eleanor didn't pester me for seven days. I didn't know if she was just being busy with her Law school or with her whole life, but well, we didn't talk or hang out during the week. And it was kind of stressful.

My back was leaning on my swivel chair while my mind is on chaos. It felt as though I needed to do so many things given a short time. I loosened my tie before folding the sleeves of my polo up until my elbows. I ran a hand before grabbing my phone.

First things first.

(Uyyy Chance, napatawag ka.) I heard her yawn from the other line. Did she just wake up?

"I'm sorry, did I wake you?" I asked. It was stupid but I found myself smiling while talking to this hot lunatic woman.

(Uh, nakatulog lang ako sa pag-aaral. Hahahaha! Oo, nag-aaral ako pag may time. Nakakaantok nga lang. I have to remind myself why I'm pursuing Law and the like. Tss... Nga pala, how's your day?) I think my heart skipped a beat from her question. Did she just ask me how was my day?

I shrugged, "Busy as always."

(Pfft. Eh bat tumawag ka pa? Bukas pa naman yung meeting natin ah―)

"Don't you dare tell me I'm excited Eleanor, naririndi na ako sa 'ayiieee' mo." I grimaced.

(Sungit nito. Nanira ka pa ng linya. Sa restaurant na lang tayo maghahanap. Ano, sounds better?)

"I don't trust your taste pa din."

(Tsk. Pake ko sa sinasabi mo. Ikaw na nga tong tinutulungan. Uhm, wala ka pa bang gagawin?)

"Why? Are you busy?" Napakunot ang noo ko. As far as I know, the Eleanor Kai Gonzales was NEVER busy. She won't have time for parties if she is busy.

(Hindi naman. Ikaw nga yung busy eh. Magtrabaho ka na nga lang imbes na awayin mo na naman ako. Well, enjoy your day!! Ngiti ka ha. Are you smiling na?) Well, I really smiled when she said that.

(Are you smiling na, Chance?) She asked again, softly this time. I nodded as if she can see me.

(Okay, siguro naman tumatango ka lang. Haha. Sige, babye. See you tomorrow! Alam kong namiss mo ako! Wag nang magdeny dahil ang ganda ko. Bleh!) Then she ended the call. Natawa na lang ako sa kalokohan niya. Stubborn and childish as always.

"Saang restaurant ba?" I asked. We were already inside her Ford Ranger but I was the designated driver.
