It was weeks later and there was a huge dinner at the Matthews house.
Almost all of the Matthews including Eric was there and Maya was sure that she wasn't going to be able to mingle as she would always.
She knew most people would pity her but she did anyway show face.
Josh smiles as he sees the middle school graduate sitting with Ava and Auggie while it wasn't sure what was going to happen next.
Josh walks towards her sitting down next to her.
"Having fun?" Josh asked and Maya nod.
"For the first time in a long time I'm happy," Maya said.
"I can see that. And I'm happy about that," Josh said.
"It's because of you that I am happy. Thank you. Thank you for believing in me and for trying to cheer me up. Through the entire thing I have felt more safe than ever before," Maya said as Josh gave Maya a soft kiss.
"Anytime," Josh said and Maya smiles at him.
