~North~

We were heading north. That was all Snow told us. And that was about all he had said for the last three hours. Everyone walked along the tunnels under the ground, our flashlights on so we could see where exactly we were going. Everyone except Snow was walking as a group. No, Snow, well, he walked on ahead in front of us, not really speaking to anyone. He was quite a bit ahead of us, but he was never out of sight. I didn't blame him though. A lot had happened to him in the last twenty-four hours. He had a lot to learn to deal with. Though an advantage of the moment was he didn't need a flashlight. NO, he walked perfectly fine in the dark tunnels, not even looking around questioning his position once. He would stop now and then when we fell behind or he sped up too much. But other than that, he was silent.

'Snow, you okay?' I asked him through the mental think, umm bond, I guess you would call it.

'Yea. I'm fine Preston. Just thinking,' he replies.

'I know. You have been through a lot in the last twenty-four hours. I don't blame you.'

'There is that. But I'm trying to get this speed thing of mine under control. I don't want to be spotted from a mile away to be a magyk user cause I have inhuman speed.' I nod at what he had said.

"You talking to Mako, Rai?" Shiro asks me. I nod. "Tell him hi for me. He won't answer me."

'Snow, your brother says hi.' I tell him. He chuckles.

'Yea. I know. He has been none stop trying to get me to talk to him, so I blocked him from my mind. Only you can hear me.' I laughed slightly and smiled.

'Well, thanks. I feel special.'

'So you should. You aren't as annoying as the rest of them. Well, you and Chi that is.'

'We are fabulous. I'll tell you that. ' Mako laughed at me.

'You also have damn big egos.'

'Oi! That's mean!'

'Yes it is. But it is true too.' I mentally flip the bird at him, causing him to laugh.

'Want me to come walk with you?' I ask him. He mentally shakes his head.

'Nah. I'll feel like I'm walking at half a mile an hour. Too slow for me at the moment. Maybe later.' He replies and we go silent.

"Mako! How much longer till we can get out of this darkness?" Akina yells out as we lose sight of him.

'Tell her there is a ladder up ahead. To the left.' Mako tells me.

"Akina, there is a ladder up ahead to the left. Keep your eyes peeled for it. That is where we are going up. Mako is already waiting there or us," I tell her. She nods and continues to walk, her eyes darting around, searching for any clues of the ladder.

"We couldn't have been walking for that long. Right?" Akina says beside me.

"Four hours, six minutes and fifty-four seconds. That's how long it has been since we left," Chi tells Akina, her eyes flashing purple then returning to normal.

"Wow. That was a very precise calculation," Akina mutters.
"I can't have time and not know. If you ask how long, I'll give you the exact time from the time you finished your sentence. Got it?" Chi says quickly. I shake my head, trying not to laugh at Akina's reaction.
