~Travel~

The four of us had to keep off a lot of the main roads and streets along our next foot of the journey, because Sebastian was somewhat known as Midnight now. This made the journey take long and was harder too.

Shiro and I hadn’t talked since the day we fought. I wanted to tell him everything, but I just couldn’t stand to see his worry and pain at the truth I hid from him. It scared me and I was worried for how much it would scare him. He was already an outlaw because of me and I didn’t need him scared because I opened my mouth.

Akina hasn’t really talked to me either. She mainly talked to Shiro, who would always smile and laugh still. Sebastian talked with him quite a bit too, but he mainly remained behind with me as Shiro lead us.

It had been about six days since we left Jira to escape the guards. Luckily, the only one whose name was under the hotel room was Midnight, as Sebastian had insisted to change it to his name in case anything like this happened, which was lucky otherwise Shiro and I would have been made as the notorious ‘Twin Shadow.’ To make it all better, they had names us the Rebels as we always messed with the system and Sebastian was believe to be recruited into the gang, even though he just sort of saved us and never left.

With my music and the book I constantly drew in as my best friends, I was somewhat better than I was two days ago. I was a mess, spending half the night in cold sweat and the other trying not to cry at the dream I had had.

I looked up at Shiro again for the fourteenth time since lunch. The sun was at its highest and the hot beams from the sun were getting to Akina and Sebastian. We had had to stop in the last town and get Akina a hat as Shiro was heat resistant and I was always able to cool or warm myself up after learning how to boil my water and freeze it slightly to make it icy cold. Sebastian already had a hat on his head so he was somewhat okay. Sort of. I constantly had to flick water at Sebastian and Akina to try and help them handle the heat out here.

Oh and to make our journey all the better, turns out we are currently in a friggen desert. Yep, you heard me. A desert. Miles and miles of golden sand surrounded the four of us and we all had to wear our masks to keep the sand off of some of our faces whenever the wind blew. But no matter what we tried, icy water wasn’t going to be enough for Akina and Sebastian. The two would still complain nonstop about the heat and I was on the verge of knocking them both out and carrying, no that’s too nice. Dragging would be a better word. I was so close to dragging those two complainers across the desert. It really did make me never want to come to the desert again.

So, three hours after we entered the desert, we finally came back to ‘land’. Well sort of. I tried so hard not to hit both of Akina and Sebastian over the head when they both fell into the crystal clear water, laying down on it, whispering something about water sweet water. The two then jumped up and were full of energy and happy to be in the somewhat cool water again. Those two were truthfully pathetic but amazing at the same time. They really were.

Shiro and I walked side by side for the first time in nearly a week, while I froze the water for the others to walk on.

I glanced at him at the same time as he looked at me and then quickly looked away.

“Look. Can we….” We both said at the same time, making us chuckle.

“You first,” Shiro says quickly.

“Look. I’m sorry I have been keeping things from you, but there are just something’s left best unknown,” I tell him truthfully. He nods at my words and sighs before taking a sip from his water canteen.

“I’m sorry I was so rude and didn’t back off, knowing you had a good reason.” Shiro tells me in return.

“Thank-you,” We both say in sync again, causing as to chuckle once more.

“Looks like they made up,” Akina whispers to Sebastian who nods and then turns to us.

“Well, you may kiss the bride now that you two have finally made up. About time too!” Sebastian says in true Sebastian style, making both Shiro and I face-palm at his actions.

“He really needed to grow up. He was so childish at times,” Shiro mentally tells me as Sebastian runs to the side of the ice and kicks some of the water for the sake of kicking the water. I nod in agreement, agreeing all too well with my brother.

Sebastian could very kiddy and joked around here and there, but overall he was an okay guy. He wore a simple black singlet, black pants and black runners with his two katana’s, as he called them, strapped to his back and his black hat on his head. Small semi- automatic cannon of a gun was strapped to his left leg.

Akina walked beside Sebastian, joining in on kicking the water. She wore a pair of brown shorts, a dark green top, brown ankle boots and a black belt with a bunch of pouches attached to it was around her waist that went with her black hat and finally she had two gold and black guns attacked to a leg each.

Shiro walked beside me, shaking his head at the pair behind us.

He wore a red shirt, black pants, black shoes, his goggles on his head and had his guns attached to a leg each and on his back.

I, myself, just had on a blue top, black pant, black shoes, and my goggles on my head and a sword attacked to my back along with a gun on each leg and on my back too. Also, some of my more useful tools hung of the straps holding up the guns.

Sebastian, Akina and I had all gotten closer in the last six days. Even with Shiro and me not talking, we still co-operated and got along with the other two. Seems like we all had one problem in common too.

We all had lost family in some way or another.

Akina lost her sister. Shiro lost his parents. Sebastian lost his parents and I lost my parents and older brother.

Even though it upset us all, it was something that brought us together too. We all wanted peace in the world like stories told us how it used to be. We wanted to see the days where magyk users were free to use magyk whenever they wanted once more. We just wanted to see the world free from the control of the Dark and his Darken. That is what we wished for.

And the best bit of the trip so far was deciding on a name for Akina. Seeing as she refused to leave us and go back to Jira, she became the fourth member of the Rebels. Thinking of her name was difficult though. She wanted a normal name, one to do with her element, but also an elegant one.

And we failed. She in the end choose the easiest name of all.

Rose

It suited her though. So, there was now Rose of Earth, Midnight of Space, Blaze of Fire and Rip of Water. That was us. The four rebels. Four friends who all now fought for the same dream.
