We walked inside my aunts house and I
laid her bags on the ground.. she was at the hospital for almost 3 weeks and today was the first day she came back. She can't move her arm since her shoulder is still recovering and that was the perfect excuse to stay next to her for the next days

She walked inside behind me and smiled - Thank you..

I smiled and picked the bags back up and an arm around her - Anything..

- You don't have to stay though.. I have Mrs. Gomez

- I want to - I kissed her head

We walked upstairs and she sat on the bed next to me. We talked for a while about everything and somehow, the conversation went to Selena

- I still can't believe she's dead Nick.. she died saving me..

I looked at her - she died protecting the ones she loved.. me and you.. her family..

She let some tears fall and I got closer to her

- What's bugging you.. this is not it.. what's tormenting you? speak up so I can help you..

- Maybe I should've been the one killed right now if it wasn't for her.. maybe I.. should've been killed..

I sighed - Dee listen.. everything happens for a reason and if this was meant to happen is because they were gods plans..

- Why would god do such thing?! - she broke down in tears onto my chest

- Demi.. she's in a good place now.. do you really think she would like to see you like this?!

She shook her head and I sighed - She's our guardian angel now.. can you Feel Her Love?

She nodded into my chest and then pulled back looking down. She lifted her arm and I saw a bracelet with an "S"

- She has the "D".. do you think I can have it back?

I smiled nodding - I think you can..

The next week was the funeral and everyone got to say a few words.. Demi was by my side crying all the time.. we threw some flowers to her grave and then locked ourselves up in Selena's old room..

It was raining outside but we were warm with the heater and we could hear my aunts cries just fine..

I walked towards her desk and smiled with tears in my eyes taking a picture off of the wall

- This day.. - I started speaking while walking towards Dee - was the day I asked my own cousin to date me

I showed her the picture of "baby me" giving "baby Selena" a flower

- She was the most beautiful girl to me.. her and my mom..

Dee smiled and chuckled - She was indeed pretty..

I looked down and got up to put the photo back in its place.

Dee got more into the bed and smiled - Can we cuddle please?

I smiled a little and walked to the bed jumping to it which made her giggle a little

She snuggled into me and the chuckled

- What?

- I can hear your heart beat

I looked down and smiled - How is it?

- Fast..

She looked up and I leaned down to kiss her. She then smiled sadly - I love you

- I love you too..

It killed me knowing that she was sad because of Selena's death.. Selena was a real hero when she died.. I couldn't thank her enough for sparing the love of my life.. or what I think it is the love of my life..

I felt Dee take a deep breath - I died at the hospital..

I nodded suddenly feeling sick just by thinking of not having Demi with me.. that would hurt so much.. It already hurts without my Selena.. I couldn't lose both..

- I felt Selena when I died..

I looked down and saw her in tears

- I could feel the love she was giving me.. At one point.. I thought this was all just a bad dream.. I think I heard her say to come back..

I closed my eyes and nodded - She will forever be in our hearts...

- She made me want to come back.. you made me want to come back..

I opened my eyes and she smiled putting her palm on my jaw - When you said you couldn't breathe without me.. I knew I had to come back..

I chuckled - Apparently fairy tales do exist huh?

She nodded - she's our guardian angel.. right?

I nodded - Yes princess.. - I said burying my face on her neck

We stayed like that until I felt Dee relax completely, knowing that she was now sleeping.. I sat up and picked her up putting her under the covers, after taking her shoes off and then hopped next to her

She naturally moved on top of me and I wrapped my arms around her small body to pull it close

- Goodnight my love..

I kissed her head and then fell asleep right after feeling protected and safe..
