I put on the shirt my mom gave me and sat on the same bench I was just a few hours ago.. same bench.. same reason.. different person..

My mom sat next to me and engulfed me in her arms - Calm down baby..

- Mom.. I can't lose Demi.. not after Selena..

She rocked me and I started crying - I know baby boy.. calm down sweetie.. she's going to be alright..

I broke down.. the exact same words I told Demi for Selena..

We all know how that ended..

We had news that she had a really good luck but she died for a minute and a half in the operation..

She was stable but asleep from the anesthesia.

We got inside and I got horrified.. she looked fragile.. she looked weak..

Even though she was the strongest person I've ever met.. she looked like a pallid broken doll

After a few minutes of just staying in the room with my mom, dad and aunt, a police officer knocked on the door and got inside

- Good evening.. we're looking for Nicholas Jonas

- It's me.. what happened?

I got worried and the police officer came closer - Calm down son.. I just have some questions..

I nodded and looked at my mom who gave him a nod

- Nicholas.. I don't want to scare you.. I just want you to collaborate in the arresting of the guy who murdered your cousin, Selena Marie Gomez.. were you with her when it all happen?

- Yes..

- Okay.. what did you saw? Who was with her? who was with you?

I took a deep breath and a quick glance towards Demi.. - I can do better.. I can count the story from the beginning

He smiled at me and I started..

From the abuse he gave to his daughter, to the alcohol problem he had, to the drugs..

- So.. I got closer to her and as I got closer, he came from behind and grabbed her.. I ran and grabbed her and Selena quickly helped.. Unfortunately, his daughter was safe with me but Selena wasn't.. He pointed the knife on her neck and threatened to kill her

I contained my tears that were now falling freely

- I didn't let her go so he.. he.. he sliced her throat and ran away..

He nodded giving me a pat on the shoulder

- Who's his daughter?

I looked towards Demi and smiled slightly - This warrior.. My little warrior.. Demi Lovato..

- What happened?

I looked towards him and he got that it had to do with her father

- Tell me.. that will give us more motives to get him into jail..

I nodded and told him the story

- So he shot her.. okay.. I need to have a word with Mrs. and Mr. Jonas... if you don't mind..

He looked towards my parents and they got up. My aunt was in tears but my mom took her with them.

I got closer to Demi's bed towards her face and grabbed her hand with my left hand

Playing with her hair, I started to whisper to her hoping she would at least hear me

- Hey there Love.. I'm hare waiting.. Stay strong baby..

I obviously got no answer but that didn't stopped me from continuing

- I know you love Selena.. but please come back to me.. please come back 'cause I need to breathe and without you, I can't..

I cried silently for a few minutes and finally got up to kiss her forehead. I snuggled my face against hers in her neck and kissed it

I looked back up and jumped a little seeing her eyes open.. nothing but tears coming down

- Demi.. please talk to me..

I pushed the button to call a nurse and she opened her mouth

"Your warrior" I read in her lips even though she wasn't making any sound

I smiled and started crying even more - Yes.. you're my warrior and you'll be it forever..

The nurse came and pushed me away softly

- Ni-ick.. - Demi shouted weakly

- I'm right here!

I went to the other side as lots of nurses came inside. Demi's eyes were so connected with mine.. I could see that she was having a panic attack..

She had them before so I knew what to do

- Breathe with me baby.. 1.. 2.. 1.. 2..

She matched her breaths with mine as the nurses ran around

I was thrilled she was okay..
