It was a few days after the investigation, we were sitting through combat class. Today was the day Pyrrha was supposed to fight team CRDL today, but I had other plans.

Glynda: "Will Ms. Nikos and team CRDL-" I interrupted her and raised my hand.

Azure: "Actually, professor... I'd like to make a request."

Glynda: "What is it?"

Azure: "I would like to fight my teammate, Sam."

Glynda: "Why is that?"

Azure: "I wanted to feel for myself how strong both of us are. There's no better way to do that than fighting him directly myself." She turned next to me.

Glynda: "Are you okay with this?"

Sam: "Yes, I am."

Glynda: "Okay, then. You two prepare yourself."

Sam and I looked at each other and nodded. We prepared ourselves and went to the arena, facing each other.

Cammy's P.O.V.

From the stand, Ruby and the others were watching Azure and Sam about to face each other. All of them can feel the aura of intensity around them.

Ruby: "I wonder why Azure wanted to fight Sam all of a sudden?"

Yang: "Didn't he say that he wanted to see how strong they are?"

Ruby: "Well, yeah. But I think there's more to it than that." Team WBY and JNPR looked at me in confusion.

Cammy: "Well, you're not wrong." Everyone's attention turned to me. "It's not just about seeing how strong they are. He also wanted to see if we're prepared."

Jaune: "Prepared for what?" I stayed silent for a bit before answering.

Cammy: "...the future." Everyone but Ruby looked at me confused. "Anyway, Ruby, you sure know a lot about him."

Ruby: "Of course! He is my boyfriend, after all!" She puffed up her chest with pride.

Cammy: "Has he ever... told you anything about his family?" Ruby put a finger on her chin.

Ruby: "...Now that I think about it, no. Why? Is it bad?"

Cammy: "I think he should tell you that himself. Don't press him about it, though. What I can tell you is that it's not sunshine and rainbow." Now Ruby looked sad.

Ruby: "...Does he not trust me enough to tell me?" She looked like she's about to cry. Yang hugged her and glared at me.

Cammy: "I think it's the opposite, actually. Because he trusts you so much, he can have as much fun as he has today. He probably likes you so much that he doesn't think about his family much." Ruby regained her cheerfulness.

Jaune: "You know, I kinda can't believe it. He looks so... normal. I never thought that he had a rough childhood."

Cammy: "He was very good at masking what he feels. Very patient too, like you can hurt him badly and he won't get mad. It was like he didn't care about living. Thankfully, everything changed when the fire nation attacked."

RWBY / JNPR: "What?"

Cammy: "Nothing, just a reference only Sam, Azure, and I will get."

Blake: "You think he's still putting up a mask?"
