Hereford base

Y/n POV
Standing next to two duffel bags out in the freezing cold, I awaited my pick up which was supposed to be thirteen minutes ago. Goosebumps formed on my arms from the freezing air biting at my unguarded skin. Finally, my pickup came in the form of a blue thunder helicopter, an aircraft known for its swift speed and high maneuverability. Slowly touching the ground, the helicopters door was suddenly yanked open and a woman with black and white hair and a beanie appeared with a bright smile on her face.
"Come on!" She shouted, beaming with energy and joy. I recoiled at this, knowing she was going to be high maintenance. Picking up both duffel bags I approached the aircraft, throwing both bags through the doors before getting yanked in by the woman, surprisingly me slightly as I didnt expect much due to her small frame.
"Nice to meet you! My name is grace but my friends call me dokki, my codename is dokkaebi." She said, sliding the door shut. Glancing to the seat in the corner I could see a buff man with a mean glare staring at me, my eyes slightly widened as I recognised who he was.
"That grumpy man in the corner is-"
"Mike Baker, an S.A.S legend" I cut her off, sitting down opposite the man.
The man in question raised his eyebrow slightly.
"Erm, have you two met?" Asked grace, sitting down right next to me.
"No, but everyone at Hereford knows Mike, he is one of the best soldiers on the planet. Still keeps ahead of everyone else despite his age. He's used as a role model for aspiring recruits" I replied, staring at the man before out stretching my hand.
"Brigadier L/n sir, I was apart of squad 313 during operation blackhawk" I stated.
Mike's eyes slightly widened before his glare softened into a stare.
"Mike Baker, codename Thatcher. I heard what happened during that operation, I'm sorry about what happened" he replied, gripping my hand into a firm handshake.
"Thankyou, I hope my age won't be a problem in the field if I make it through."
"I don't care about your age, I care about your skill. If you prove that you can watch yourself as well as others, I'll put my full faith in you" he replied, leaning back in his chair.
I flinched slightly as an arm was snaked round my neck and over my soldier as grace leant against me.
"So, what changed your mind?" She asked, getting close to my face. I just stared at her coldly.
"Your dirty fucking tactics, your lucky that only reminded me about my hate for that group" I replied, pushing her arm off me. Grace only replied by giggling and laying down across the seats with her head in my lap. Slightly blushing I glared down at the twin tailed woman
"What are you doing?"
"Getting comfortable, after all it is gonna be a long ride sweetie"
"Sweetie?" I asked, mortified by the nickname she assigned me.
"Yes honey?" She replied, a cheeky smile adorning her lips as if my question wasn't about the nickname I was given.
"This is gonna be a long ride" I mumbled, closing my eyes and resting my head against the metal frame.

3rd person

"Hey mike" said grace, getting the man's attention
"What" he grumbled, expecting her to start annoying him.
"Can you.. let y/n join you and the rest of the S.A.S group?" She asked, turning to look at him.
"Why do you suddenly care?" Mike replied, staring back at the woman.
"He's spent most of his life ostracized for his age and I don't want him to experience that here. You saw what Mute had to put up with for the first few months, that's gonna be 10 times worse for y/n"
Mike started to think, debating what to do. On the one hand, he didn't want the kid to die on a mission and if he was ostracized at team rainbow then he might leave and never come back. On the other hand, the kid is perfectly capable from the high praise he has heard from general William's and if he's been handpicked by harry, he must have what it takes.
"I willl grace, don't worry" he replied
"...Thankyou"

Helicopter
Peeling open my eyes I immediately noticed the position I was in. Before I slept I was strapped into the seat and leant against the metal frame of the blue thunder. Now I was lying down with my legs on the seats and my head lying on 2 perfect looking thighs. Bolting upright I immediately noticed the warm smile on Grace's lips.
"What the fuck?" I asked in suprise
"You slipped onto my lap in your sleep, I didn't want to wake you so i just let you stay there" she replied.
"Well that's funny, because I last remember being strapped into the seat with a harness, so it should have been impossible"
"Hmm, guess we'll never know" she replied, beaming happily. I just rolled my eyes before standing up and stretching. Glancing over I noticed Mike just watching in amusement smiling, which was a whole different personality to what I experienced yesterday, guess it must of just been him getting up early.
"How long till we land?" I asked, cracking my fingers.
"About right now" Mike replied, standing up and grabbing onto the metal support bar attached to the roof. As I looked out the window I realised the ground was very close so I immediately gripped the bar on the ceiling with both hands, steadying myself so I didn't fall over.
"Prick" i mumbled, letting go of the bar as the aircraft landed. Mike only chuckled in response. Grabbing both my duffel bags I stepped out the helicopter with grace and Mike before approaching the building, admiring the view of the large base. It was about twice as big as Hereford. As we entered through the doors we were immediately greeted by a huge pile of suitcases and bags, aswell as an enormous group of recruits just chatting to each other.
"Follow me kid, you can store your stuff in my room. It'll surely get lost in this shit show" stated Mike, walking through the massive group. Everyone parted for the man, whose aura demanded respect. Me and grace followed behind, as everyone stared at me weirdly, nothing I wasn't used to though. While walking through the hallways we were suddenly stopped by two people, who started talking to grace. One was a woman with long ginger hair going to below her shoulder blades and the other was a woman with short blonde hair that went down to her shoulders.
"Hi cutie, my name is Eliza cohen but my friends call me Ash and this is Monika, but we call her IQ. What are you doing here?" She asked, smiling warmly at me. Grace cringed slightly while I rolled my eyes.
"Y/n l/n, but people call me brigadier l/n miss Cohen' I replied, waiting for her to start laughing.
"Aren't you a bit too young to be here?" Eliza asked, to which I sighed.
"He is a very skilled and very talented individual, anyway I'm starving see you at the cafeteria guys" and with that she dragged the two women off.
I laughed slightly at Grace's not so subtle way of de-escalating the situation.
"Don't worry kid, they'll warm up to you after you beat the entrance exam" stated Thatcher, continuing his walk down the hallway. I quickly caught up behind him.
"That's an awful lot of praise, I dont think I'm even going to get past the first part" I replied.
"I may not have seen you in action yet but I do know one thing... harry and general William's are hard to impress, and you've impressed them both. If they have faith in you, so do i" he replied, opening a door before grabbing both duffel bags and placing them inside the room. After shutting and locking the door we started to go to the cafeteria, where I inevitably will get the most stares.
"Your gonna come hang out with the rest of us S.A.S, I ain't hearing anything else" stated Mike, walking towards the cafeteria doors.
"I'm good with that, rather not get stared at while I'm sitting by myself. I've had enough of that from Hereford" I replied, smiling slightly. Pushing open the cafeteria doors everything went silent as everyone stared directly at me and Mike, who looked unaffected by it. We both walked towards the buffet, grabbing a plate as we approached. My mind instantly went towards the bacon and sausage, aswell as the egg and beans. Mike grabbed the same before we both started walking towards a table full of 3 different people.
"You seem like you know which table we are going to" he commented
"Oh come on, those three scream S.A.S, especially who I think is Seamus cowden" I replied, earning a chuckle from Mike.
"Correct you are kid"
I'm never gonna kick the 'Kid' name am I?

Sitting down at the table all 3 stared at me before I outstretched my hand.
"Y/n l/n but you can call me brigadier l/n, i already know your names because I'm from S.A.S aswell" a few seconds pass before Seamus grips my hand.
"So your the kid everyone's been talking about, Codename's sledge nice to meet ya kid"
"Codename smoke nice to meet you"
"... Mute, I don't talk much" he said
"Wait how have people been talking about me?, I've been here for like 10 minutes" I asked
"Well after Ash came bolting through the doors shouting about a kid taking the entrance exam, people have been talking about you" spoke Seamus, chugging a bottle of water.
"Oh great, it's like the S.A.S all over again, except now I have a group to stick with" I replied.
"You'll get used to it, gossip runs rampant in this place. It's like the plague back in 1347" rasped Mike, taking a bite out of his piece of bacon.
"Oh fantastic, so it's the S.A.S and high school combined?" I asked rhetorically, gaining a low rumble of chuckles from the table.
"Have you even been to high school?" Asked smoke, earning a laugh from the group.
"I did for a little bit, I learnt about things like the Geneva's convention. Have you yet?" I asked, earning a laugh from everyone at the table including the man in question.
"You'll fit in just fine kid" stated Seamus.
"CAN ALL RECRUITS PLEASE COME TO THE TRAING AREA" Boomed the voice over the intercom.
"Looks like we'll get to see what your made of kid" commented Mike as I stood up.
