"What's on the video?" I asked again.

"I'm not really supposed to say," Danny answered.

"What is I can get your ID back," I offered with a grin.

Danny sang like a bird after that.

I was the one that got him his ID so I was able to just get them done again. Scott and I walked out of the room only to run into Melisa.

"While I think you being here to check in on your friend is all sorts of commendable, I've gotta play tough mom right now, even though I'm not very good at it," she spoke to us.

"I mean," I spoke up, grabbing both McCall's attention, "I would say you are an amazing mom, aunt Mel."

"Thank you, Juliette," she smiled.

I beamed at her happiness only to have Scott destroy it, "Right now?"

"Yes, right now," Melisa looked at her son, "I got a call from your principal. You are failing two classes?"

"I-I know," Scott dropped his head in shame.

"And," I tried to make this better, "That's why I'm driving Scott to Stiles' place so they can study. I would study with him but I already made plans with the girls."

"That's good," Melisa nodded, "Because if you fail even one of your midterms, Scott," she looked over to her son, "They're gonna hold you back."

"He said that?" Scott's eyes flew open, in disbelieve.

"Yes," Melisa nodded, "All of your friends are gonna be Juniors, while you are still a sophomore. Do you understand, Scott?"

"You can't fail," I pointed out the obvious.

"I know," Scott looked at his mother with determination.

"Okay," Melisa nodded, "Thanks, guys."

Scott and I split up as I got into my car and began to drive to Lydia's. As I got out of the hospital parking lot, my Bluetooth system in my car began to announce the incoming call. Without looking who it was, I pushed the answer button in my steering wheel as I paid attention to the road ahead of me. It was already getting dark due to the time of the season they were in.

"Hello?" I called out.

"Hey, Juliette, it's Matt," Matt's voice rang throughout my car, "Are you busy?"

"I'm currently heading over to Lydia's to study with her for midterms," I replied, "What's up?"

"Oh," Matt paused, "Uh, I was going to ask if you wanted to study, but you already have a partner. Well, I'll let you go then."

"Is everything okay, Matt?" I asked.

Matt paused, leaving me in silence in my car.

"Nothing," he laughed, "I just wanted to hang out but I don't want to mess up with your plans. Maybe we can hang out some other time?"

I smiled at Matt's slow-growing confidence, but answered, "Yeah, definitely. Whenever you need a partner to study or just to, I don't know, just hang out and talk, call me up."

"Really?" I can make out his smile.

I laughed, "Yeah, I don't see why I wouldn't want to hang out with you. I mean we're friends right?"

There was a tense pause after I said the word friends. It was almost like the fun atmosphere we had just vanished in thin air. It made me anxious as I tightened my hold on my steering wheel. With a laugh, I tried to make light of the situation.
