Jaskier and Max sat around the fire, Jaskier was telling him a story about how he'd accidentally pissed off a bull-hornet nest when he was a child and Max was nodding along, occasionally glancing over at Geralt who was nowhere near the fire, rolled onto his side and probably asleep.

"And-...Max?"

"Do you think Witcher's are truly monsters?" Max asked, looking at Jaskier who blinked and shrugged,

"I mean...no, not really"

"Why is that?"

"They're humans aren't they?"

"Well my father calls them mutants"

"Well...perhaps that's true but Geralt hasn't hurt us, if he was a monster he'd have hurt us by now"

"True I suppose" Max said and the two fell silent. Jaskier looking at Max,

"What are you two going off to kill?"

"The monster that's been terrorizing the kingdom, Geralt believes it's a dragon"

"Ah, the one who's been eating livestock"

"Yes" Max nodded and Jaskier looked a bit awkward, standing up and looking at Max,

"Well..goodnight then"

"Goodnight Jaskier" Max said, "I'm staying up a bit longer"

"Alright" Jaskier said and walked off to his sleeping mat, Max staring into the fire as he thought that maybe Witcher's weren't monsters like he'd been told.
