「 chapter five」

Depuis le début

Sasuke thought for a second, wondering what to do. He suddenly scowled when he realized what he was doing and threw several kunai at the target. His focus was off, so he missed all of them except one.

"Not as good as him."

He angrily sighed and walked to get his kunai again. There was no way that she could grant his wishes.

Right?

-------------------------------

Haruno Sakura sat on her bed, staring at her pink wall while thinking of what happened today. Yeah, she believed in fairies, but that was only when she was younger. Science and logic told her that they didn't exist, but none of her books would explain what happened today.

What could she wish for? Sasuke to love her? Wasn't that a bit creepy?

Could fairies even do that? Every fictional book she read about wish-granting beings couldn't make people fall in love or bring people back from the dead. But then again, fairies weren't real until now.

Well, she couldn't worry about it now. There was a mission tomorrow that Naruto had managed to snag from the Hokage. After that, she would think about it. If it even was real, that was.

She couldn't exactly tell anyone. From what Tsubaki said, everyone believed that she was a shinobi of Konoha. Besides, who was there to tell? She didn't exactly have any friends...

Sakura sighed, flopped backwards onto the bed. She really was weak. Should she ask to get stronger? If she got stronger, would Sasuke like her?

Or maybe she should ask for something simpler, like making herself prettier. Sakura stared at the wall and sighed.

So far, being a kunoichi was no fun at all.

-------------------------------

Hatake Kakashi sat at a resturant with Maito Gai, blanking out.

After the team had dispersed, he ran into Gai as he aimlessly walked around Konoha. As always, he greeted him with a grin and an offer for a challenge. When Kakashi had declined as he always did, Gai had stared at him before picking him up and running to a resturant and carefully placing him down.

"Dear rival, you look famished! Eat and then go rest! You have a mission tomorrow, right?!"

Kakashi nodded, staring blankly at his food.

What the hell happened today?

"Hm, Gai. You know that kunoichi named Tsubaki?"

"Of course I do! Why?"

"Do you remember how she appeared in the village?"

"No. No one knows. The Hokage said it was classified information, you were there when he said that? Remember?"

"Mhm." Kakashi quickly ate his food and put his mask back on. "Thanks for the meal, Gai. I'll head home now."

Gai nodded. "Goodbye, my rival!"

Kakashi nodded and shunshined into his apartment. He fell onto the couch and sighed, staring at the ceiling.

What was he supposed to do? He couldn't exactly go to the Hokage with this, no one seemed to be suspicious of her. Could he just play along?

What would he even wish for? There was nothing he wanted. He had money to last for years. He was as strong as he wished to be. He didn't exactly have any regrets, either.

Or...maybe he did. His team had all died early on, and he couldn't do anything to stop it. Could Tsubaki bring people back from the dead...?

Kakashi ruffled his hair. What was he doing?

This is dumb, he determined. He needed to rest, there was a mission tomorrow. Even though it was only a C rank, you could never be too safe.

-------------------------------

Tsubaki awoke to people talking below her. She sat up, hit head on the branch and groaned. Rubbing her eyes, she glanced below her.

And there was Team Seven, in their full glory.

Tsubaki hooked her knees on a branch and allowed herself to fall backwards, coming face-to-face with Naruto.

He screamed before jumping backward. Tsubaki grinned before flipping and landing on the ground.

"Good morning."

"It's not necessarily one, but good morning to you too." Kakashi replied.

"Well it is to me! It's our first mission, dattebayo!" Naruto grinned.

"Hmmm. Do you think I could come?"

"Huh? I mean..." Sakura started, glancing at her team. "I'm not sure if the client wants you to..."

"Is anyone going to introduce her?" Tazuna shouted, pointing at the girl.

"If the work of the council is here...then..."

Tsubaki smiled, holding out her hand. "Good morning. My name is Tsubaki. Would it be alright if I accompany you on this mission?"

"Hm? There's no-" Tazuna stopped suddenly, a slight glaze coming over his eyes before he replied. "Tsubaki, right? I heard a lot about ya. Protect me well, 'mkay?"

Tsubaki grinned. "Of course."

She turned back to the team, smirking. "Looks like the client's okay with it."

Naruto looked between her and Tazuna incredulously. "Huuh? How did you-"

"Okay, let's get going," Tsubaki smiled, pushing the boy by his shoulder's. "We want to get there before dark."

"But, but!-" Naruto started.

"Yup. We don't want it to get dark," Tazuna replied. "You guys should know this."

Kakashi sighed. "Let's go, my cute little genin. Although she is suspicious," he glared slightly at the fairy, who shrugged and smiled. "We need to go through with our mission."

"Hn. We might be able to see her fight, too." Sasuke added.

"Well, it's only a C-rank, don't get your hopes up." Kakashi retorted.

"Alright! Let's get going, dattebayo!"
