Pairing: Kei Tsukishima and Tadashi Yamaguchi

(Sorry if those aren't in the right order. I'm an American and it shows.)

"Hey Tsukki!" Tadashi called, jogging over to the tall blond, who seemed more pissed off than usual.

"Hey." He sounded really tired today too. It made Tadashi nervous. When Tsukki was tired he got really cranky, and even more salty.

"Are you okay?" Tadashi asked, brushing his hand against the taller boy's.

"No," the middle blocker admitted, adjusting his glasses slightly.

"What's bothering you?" Tadashi asked, pulling Tsukki into the boy's bathroom. They still had ten minutes until class, so they were perfectly fine on time.

"I just . . . I need a hug."

That surprised Tadashi, that surprised him beyond words.

Tsukki had never been one for physical contact, even when it came to the smaller, freckled boy standing in front of him. Even as best friends, Tsukishima was more verbally affectionate than physically affectionate, and you had to know him to know that he was being affectionate, or just less salty than usual.

"You don't have to ask, we are friends you know," Tadashi told him with a shy smile as he wrapped his arms around the taller boy's waist.

Tsukki sighed, a long, heavy sound, and wrapped Tadashi in a tight hug, his long arms wrapping Tadashi in a warm embrace.

"Thank you," Tsukki whispered, nuzzling Tadashi's neck lightly, something that almost made him shiver.

"No problem Tsukki," Tadashi told his friend, lightly stroking his blond locks, something Tadashi had always admired about his friend other than his ability to get under anyone's skin.

They stayed like that for a while, just holding each other.

"I hope you know how much I appreciate you Tadashi, even if I don't always show it," Tsukishima said.

"I know, I know Tsukki," Tadashi promised.

"I just wanted you to know," Tsukishima said, straightening up again.

Tadashi smiled at Tsukishima. "Thanks, Tsukki," he murmured.

"Any time Tadashi," Tsukishima said, giving his smaller friend a small smile.

They walked out together, like always.

"Are you coming over tonight?" Tsukishima asked as they turned the corner to get to their classroom.

"Yeah, my family has been driving me nuts and I need a small break," Tadashi said, dodging people to catch up with Tsukki, who was always able to get through crowds better than Tadashi.

"Well, my parents love you, so you're welcome over to my house any time," Tsukishima said, taking his seat.

"O-Okay Tsukki," Tadashi said, hating the fact that he stammered.

And so, of course, he stared at his friend without even realizing that he was doing it until the bell rang and his eyes watered when he blinked.

(Time Skip)

"Oh, Yamaguchi! It's been too long, where have you been sweetheart?" Tsukki's mother said, wrapping her arms around the small boy, who had actually been taller than her since his third year in middle school.

"Sorry, between my family and volleyball, I've been busy!" Tadashi murmured, smiling at his friend's mother.

"Well, come over any time, you're always welcome here. We've started to think of you as a third son!"
