The whole car ride I had the right mind to kick his ass while he drove, but then the reality of killing us both set in. It was quiet until we finally got to his house. He got out and came around to open the door for me but I made no effort to get out. "Do I have to carry you inside?"

I huffed and decided to just get out of the car. When we got inside, I sat on the couch and he sat on the coffee table in front of me. "I didn't do this."

I dragged my eyes away from the fish tank he had just bought and looked into his eyes. "Who did it then, Javier? You literally have lied so much I can't take your word for anything anymore."

"Anytime I lied was for your own good. But I'm not lying about this. Let's look on the bright side here though, you finally see what I've been trying to warn you about."

"Are you serious right now?" I asked with squinted eyes.

"Yes." He affirmed. "You're really full of shit, you know that?"

"Me!? How?"

"You say you want to protect me but you constantly lie. You're just as fake as your name. Is anything you ever told me true?"

"I told you I didn't fucking do it and I meant it!"

"This isn't just about the goddamn files anymore. This is about our relationship." I exclaimed.

"Baby—i...Come on you gotta trust me." He replied.

"Trust you? How can I trust you?. I've been ignoring the little human-sized holes in your defense long enough." I lectured. "What happened to being better than what you're parents played you down to being? What happened to always being honest?"

"You're just as bad as you claim Sebastian is. I can't...I can't take this." I finished.

"What are you—What are you saying?"

What am I saying? Am I ending this? I can't deal with all this drama, and soon enough I'll be dealing with the attention and backlash from his little scene earlier. "¿Qué estás diciendo?" He asked quieter than before. I could see tears Pool at the corners of his eyes because he knew what I was going to say.

"I...I need space." His head hung in shame and he shook his head. "No, no I don't want space. I don't need space. I need you." He whimpered.

"Well, I need space. I need time to think. It's either that or I give this up right here, right now..."

His head hung from sadness and he desperately wiped his eyes. "Can you please give me my phone so I can call an Uber or something."

"No. You can't...no puedes dejarme. Please don't leave. We can talk this out!"

As he pleaded with me I snatched up his phone and ordered myself an Uber. "Nyla are you listening to me?! I love you." His voice crawled as he sputtered out his revelation.

I stopped in my tracks and turned to face him. "We all need breaks from the people we love sometimes."
