"jas just posted guys" alexia announced after she got a notification "you have post notifications on?" jack asked while everyone including him pulled their phones out

"yeah, i do for you guys too" she smiled and it made me smile because i love her smile

"oh, she has a drink in her hand, i guess they aren't coming here today then" christina says and i nod "she hasn't changed a bit since we last saw her" gabbie says "i think she has, she looks somewhat older, in a good way of course" christina says and gives a nervous laugh at the end

"ooh he's hot!" christina says looking across the room at a guy who is stood waiting for his order, he already has a drink in his hand though but i notice it's not from starbucks "christina you can't say that! that's jonah marais" i say after realising who it is

"what really?" she asks and i nod "if jonah's here then jas might not be too far away either" alexia says looking around

suddenly a girl in denim shorts and a denim jacket walks up to him, oh that's jas

"jas is there!" gabbie whisper shouts to us all and everyone's head turns to look over, jonah hands jas the drink he was holding and also a phone which i guess i jas'

"daniel you should say hi to her when she walks past!" jack says and everyone nods "okay but if she isn't comfortable then just let her go without a conversation" i agree and wait for them to walk past

"order for jonah!" the person behind the cashiers shouts "daniel get ready!" alexia says nudging my arm

jonah stops to put his straw in what i guess is some iced coffee, and then they start walking in our direction

"jas!" i shout and her head turns to see who is shouting her "hey!" she says and smiles, only looking at me though "hi i saw you and thought i'd get your attention" i make up an excuse that wasn't 'this lot wanted me to get you over here'

she smiles and nods before nudging jonah and they start walking over to our table, under the table alexia grabs my hand and squeezes it and i guess she's trying to let out her excitement some other way rather than squealing

"hey how've you been?" i hear alexia say from next to me, she's still squeezing my hand

jas looks at her and gives a blank expression as if she's getting flashbacks of every moment of her past

"hi" jas says quietly "i've been good"

"yo jonah it's been a while!" jack says and i mentally cringe, i wasn't planning on jonah finding out who we are yet, jonah looks very confused at jack

"sorry i don't mean to be rude but what?" he says and i want to laugh, this guy must have a really bad memory if he doesn't remember me and jack

"it's jack avery, we were friends until freshman year, me you daniel and zach" jack says and jonah looks at jas, her face looks similar to jonah's, they are both in a state of realisation, jonah is realising who we are and i don't know what jas is realising actually

"wow i didn't recognise you both, wait where's zach at?" jonah asks and i mentally facepalm, he should've worked this out by now that zach went to minnesota, the realisation shows on his face again

"wait wait wait, zach's in minnesota, he's the same zach that you guys were talking about last night isn't he?" me and jas both nod at the same time

"oh my god" jonah says and then he gets lost in his own thoughts probably trying to work everything out

"so jas how's life been since we last saw you?" jack asks and she pauses "good i guess, i just wanna say i'm sorry for just leaving when i did" she smiles and looks down to her feet

"it's fine, it's just good to know your alive" gabbie says with a little humour in her tone but not a sarcastic amount of humour "what she means is that it's good to see you again" christina says and smiles

jas smiles and looks around the table at us all "it's good to see you guys again too, i missed you all so much!"

alexia let's go of my hand and carefully stands up, she slowly walks towards jas as if she's scared of her or what her reaction may be

"i missed you too" alexia says and reaches out for jas' shoulder however jas flinches away, alexia's face turns from happy to worried instantly, i see a smile creep onto jas' face "i'm just kidding come here!" jas says and and pulls alexia into a long hug

"how long are you two in LA for?" gabbie asks once the two girls stop hugging "our flight leaves tomorrow afternoon so not that much longer" jonah says and jas gives a smile

after about 5 more minutes of talking jas and jonah say goodbye and leave

"that went so much better than i expected, especially since last time we saw her she practically ran away from us" alexia said and laughed slightly, she already looked happier even though she's only seen jas for such a short amount of time and there was no mention of actually staying in contact or becoming friends again

"yeah i still can't believe jonah didn't remember us though" jack says and i nod

"it's just good to know she's alive" christina says, we all agree and finish our drinks before leaving
