[James' point of view]

"I don't know what to say Belle. I'm sorry. I'm really sorry." I was still shocked by what I heard.

"I understand. How funny it is that you are the one saying sorry now. Maybe we are just meant to be good friends." she said while laughing trying to control herself to cry.

"I gotta go now. I just inform you if I had already left our country. Please leave me alone, don't follow me as I go home." She walked turning to the other side. Tears start falling in her eyes, but it was hidden by the rainfall.

I then slowly sitting on a bench, processing what she said. I flashbacked of my moments with Belle. I then realized that maybe she was right, we are meant only as good friends.

I cannot go home because the rain is still pouring harder. The storm is frightening that I stayed there on the side sitting and leaning back to a wall. Moments later, a security guard approached me.

"Sir, are you okay there? I was just patrolling this building."

"Oh, yes, I'm just okay. I just waiting for the rain to subside." Then the lightning and thunder roared so loud.

"I just saw you with a lady a while ago. It seems you have a very dramatic moment." The guard laughed. I just smiled.

"And by the way, I saw you handed her something. What was that?"

"They call it a gospel tract. A friend gave it to me who is a born again Christian."

"Oh, that's what I've thought. Gospel tracts are needed for everyone to hear the good news of Jesus Christ"

"Wait, are you also a born again Christian sir?"

"Hmm... So what did you learn about it?"

"It was written there that Jesus Christ paid for our sins and that our entrance in heaven is through his sacrifice and not our own religion, good works, or morality."

"That's true, but still there is still something that you miss!"

"What is that sir?" Another thunder roared very loud and then there was silence.

"You need to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. You need to accept that He paid for your sins and not just that, He must be the Lord of your life. It means He is the master of your life right now, not yourself. You must surrender your life to me, James."

"What? I will surrender my life to you?" I was wondering and then I saw the name tag in the uniform of the guard. It was written there - "Jesus Christ".

And then I woke up. It's another dream again with Jesus. The rain has just stopped.

A few days later, Belle arrived in Canada. I am keeping in touch with her to be sure that she is alright. I also decided to keep it from Angela on what she just confessed. I need to focus on our relationship instead.

I prioritized saving again so that I can have more funds for my plan in transferring to Manila by next year. Aside from that, I also set a budget every time we are meeting with Angela. We had a meaningful vacation whether we are on a beach, mountains, and cities outside the country. We need to maximize the time in making memories because we are not always together.

Long-distance relationships are very challenging. It takes couples to work it out together to let it flourish. It needs extreme trust, honesty, and commitment to make it alive. Nothing is more exciting at the same time frustrating than entering this kind of partnership.

Then the first day of work of the year 2013 came. I handed my resignation so hI can now move to Manila and start to materialize my plans with Angela. My plan was to break our long-distance relationship and build a family with her in the near future. I want to settle down to a woman I invested my life with.
