I GOT ALCOHOL MARKERS!!!

OK SO I'M VERY EXCITED I GOT ALCOHOL MARKERS!!! I got a 100 dollar gift card to hobby lobby and I got 35 of them!!! I've wanted them for a while now and I'm experimenting with them now!! I'm really excited to start my collection! Wow that's a lot of exclamation points!!

For those of you who don't know alcohol markers are a special type of marker that usually are expensive (copics run like 8 dollars a marker while I got the masters touch brand and got them for 3 dollars a marker) and you can layer them and shade with them and they're just like really nice markers. Here's all of them that I got today (imma make a collection!!)

You'll probably see a lot of art with color in it now so it's not just black and white!!! Yayyy!!!

Meet my OC Sarah! She's really angsty most of the time but then when she gets flustered (which only happens around a certain someone I'm still creating) it's like ADORABLE I have gotten to know her and I won't put her whole bio here or anything but here she is! I experimented with her with the markers and this is how it turned out

Ignore the trashy unfinished sketches and my rambling on the side but considering this is my very first time ever using alcohol markers and I was just experimenting I'm happy with it! (Ignore the hands tho lol) Here's a sketch of her I'm particularly fond of

The feet are bad I know (I didn't want to do them but I did and they are bad 😂) but I like this sketch of her. Yes I drew the stack (those are supposed to be old records but I rushed it) of records because the hand was at a weird angle and she's an 80's enthusiast so I was like why not?? Also the little doodle in the top right corner is basically how I drew in like 5th grade, so, improvement! Yay! (It says 4th grade but my style was wacked up in 4th grade that's like 5th grade ish for me so now since I'm in 9th grade I've gotten better!) I feel like for me like if I go back and compare my art over the years I have like a MASSIVE style change like here's an example

It feels like I summoned a demon from the depths of hell by opening this old notebook to this page

I was so proud of this when I drew it though 😂 now it makes me cringe and I nearly didn't share this because it's just... yeah.

I will say the one thing about it that I'm proud of myself for doing is the SHOES like my shoes are trashy now still and my hands still are but I'm proud of 6th grade me for trying really hard on the shoes 😂

As you can see some things are better (the face is no longer freaking me out as much) but the hands are worse and I elongated the limbs really weirdly. 7th grade me must've failed anatomy 😂 Also it's sketchier which in my opinion is a good thing I prefer a sketchier drawing to a thick bold lines drawing for myself and my art style is kinda sketchy now so now I know I started to make my lines sketchier in 7th grade!

You can't see how I drew eyes or facial features in this one but you can just kinda see how I drew face shapes and proportions so yeah there's that

If you guys want to see me redraw it again let me know! By the way it's actually my friend and we were in the car on the way to girls camp and I was bored so I drew her in 6th grade initially and then I decided to redraw it every year (except I didn't finish it 8th grade 😂)
