CHAPTER 11

I checked myself in the mirror and went out and saw him still sleeping. But when I looked at the clock it was already 6:25.

Today Mary is in leave because she went to visit her granddaughter who is in San Francisco. So I decided to go down and prepare the breakfast like this only as there will be no one in the kitchen as it was getting late and go up before he comes down.

I was preparing the last pancake when I heard footsteps coming towards the kitchen.

I saw Asher standing at the kitchen door so I turned to smile at him and I saw that he was eyeing me up and down.

I looked down to see what he was seeing and I realised what I was wearing very lately.

The spatula dropped from my hands and I hid behind the counter so that he can't see me anymore.

I heard movement and saw him coming in front of me.

"Emma get up" he said and I nodded my head no.

"Get up Emma" he said holding me and making me stand.

I looked down not able to meet his eyes when I felt him lift my chin saying "Look at me".

I looked in his eyes and saw him looking at me with a new emotion which I never saw in him, desire.

He slowly caressed my cheek with his thumb then my jaw and lastly stopping at my lips making my eyes close.

I felt his breath near my ears and then his lips. He started slowly nibbling them and trailing on my cheek towards my lips while his hands rubbing my knees.

Ring! Ring! The sound brought us out of the trance.

I slowly opened my eyes and saw him cursing something and taking his phone out.

I turned around and saw the burned pancake. Switching off the stove I threw the pancake away.

I turned and saw him still on the phone so I went up to get ready for the office.

When I came down I saw him bringing out the dishes I prepared for the breakfast.

I went and helped him in setting the table and we took our seats silently.

When I looked up I saw him looking at me and I involuntarily blushed.

I again went back to my food trying to ignore him.

"Emma" I heard him calling me so I looked up.

"Let's go together today" he said looking at me.

I nodded an okay and got up to keep the plates away.

I came outside the kitchen and saw him waiting for me near the stairs.

We silently made our way towards the garage when he looked at me and asked "Which car do you want us to take?"

At first I was shocked seeing that he wanted to drive which I choose and I pointed to the Maserati which I wanted to drive in from the day I saw it in his garage.

"Come on then" he said and went to the car opening the passenger's door for me.

I took my seat and saw him coming across the other side taking his seat and in few seconds the car came to life.

We were on the road for 5 minutes with comfortable silence when he asked "So about yesterday night. What happened?"

I took my notepad out from my bag and wrote "Nightmare"

He slightly glanced at what I wrote and nodded.

"Was it because of what I did?" he asked in a hard tone mostly still angry about what happened.

I nodded a No.

"So then is it about the accident?" he asked.

I nodded a No and wrote "I don't know" showing him.

He stopped the car in the side and turned towards me asking "What do you mean by don't know?"

"There are no cars. According to my parents the accident was a car accident" I wrote and showed him.

"Do you want to share with me? I mean the dream?" he asked looking at me.

"Yeah sure. Evening" I wrote and he nodded starting the car.

We reached Campbell & Co. and I was getting out when he held my hand stopping me.

"No Bye?" he asked faking a sulking face. I laughed and waved him a Bye.

"See you later" he said and I got out of the car.

The day went by slowly and I realised how terribly I can miss someone in just 4 hours into work.

I heard Ben knock my door and come inside.

"Mr. King is coming to see you in 2 min" he said looking at me.

"Why? Now?" I gestured him with a shocked face.

"I don't know Emma. I just got a call from reception downstairs and he is already in the elevator" he said and the same time we heard a knock.

"Come in" Ben said and we saw Asher coming inside the room.

"Mr. King" Ben said and greeted him.

Asher acknowledged Ben which clearly meant he is really okay with him now and it made me happy.

"Emma lets have lunch together" he said turning to me from Ben.

I turned to Ben and gestured "Do you want to join?"

"No" he said and "Are you sure?" I gestured at him again.

"Absolutely" he said and left from there.

In this whole conversation Asher was looking from me to Ben.

"What was that about?" he asked coming towards me.

I took out my notepad and wrote "Just asking if he wanted to join". He nodded in reply.

"Come on lets go" he said taking my hand and dragging me out of my office.

We went to a nearby restaurant where he already made a reservation.

"So what is this all about" I wrote in my notepad and showed him.

"Just having lunch with my wife" he said casually and I sat there looking at him in shock.

"Why is your mouth open?" he asked and put a piece of chicken piece in my mouth.

I chewed it and looked at him with the same expression.

He gave out a sigh and asked "Emma what's with that expression again?" putting his fork down looking at me.

"Nothing" I wrote and showed him.

"Okay. Now eat or we are going to be late" he said and took his fork back in his hand.

I just let go of we part not dwelling on it because he obviously meant different ways after this.

After the lunch we went back to my office and when I turned to say bye I saw him getting out of the car.

I looked at him confused when he came around and opened the door for me.

I smiled and got out thinking he just wanted to open the door for me but he held my hand moving towards the door.

I stopped giving him a questioning look.

"Come on let's go we are late" he said and took hold of my hand taking me inside the building.
