She stares into the mirror at her symmetrical reflection when out of the corner of her eye, she see's a figure staring at her. It's Adriel Hunter. One of her many friends from childhood. He's wearing only some thigh long shorts and slops. His shoulder blade length curly dirty blonde hair, hangs loosely around his face. His sapphire blue eyes skim over her body, inch by inch. His muscles - that look as if chiseled by a marble carver - are so well defined that any teenage girl, and older woman, would swoon over him. He's about 194cm tall, if he stands next to her she's at his shoulders height. His large hands, one on his hip the other on the wall just above his head. And on his right peck is a Crinzalite warrior tattoo, which if translated means protecter and defender. His thoughts are racing in his head, making it hard for her to get a read on his feelings.

"Hey Hunter Darling," she uses her telepathy to speak to him.

"When you do that it makes me think I'm crazy,'' he replies with a sigh.

''I know, just making sure it still works.''

''Settling in well?''

''Yeah actually I'm settling in pretty well, thanks. I've got work starting tomorrow so I won't be home much. Same goes for Nathan, so we'll be home late every day.''

''Right, I got it thanks for warning me.''

''Anytime.''

''The guys want to hold a party tonight, so how 'bout you go into town with us? We'll be going to this club that opened recently. Are you up for it?'' His blue, pleading eyes sparkle.

''I'll check with Nathan, afterwards I'll let you know.''

''Alright.'' He hesitates in the doorway, seemingly desirous, ''there's something I want you to kn-"

"No! Don't say anything Adriel, I can't...I can't reciprocate those feelings. I'm sorry, but-"

"I get it, sorry for interrupting you. I hope you'll consider coming out tonight.''

She nods in confirmation just before he slips out of her room.

She's known for a while now that Adriel had something more than the feeling of friendship on his mind. Ever since she was six she learned he liked her, her conclusion when she met him in that bar after twelve years was that he had fallen in love with her. His thoughts were all about Angel, he was going over memories of them together, he was picturing what he'd do if he met her and what he'd say. She felt happy, but also guilty knowing that it would never work out, knowing she was already in 'love' with someone else.

There's not much she can remember about her biological parents, however, one thing her mom once said was, ''life is full of crushes but you only have one true love, Angel.'' She thought her mother was crazy and joking with her, but she understands the meaning behind her message now. Her dad never really showed emotion or compassion, he never expressed his love for her mom or her. Her mom had always said, ''he loves us,'' which was hard to believe- since he never really spent time with them. Her parents had an arranged marriage, they were chosen for one another by her great grandparents before her mom was even born. Her mom was the well known beauty goddess on Crinzalite, breaking hearts weekly, maybe even daily. But when she married that all stopped. She gave into the rules and lived a strict, saddening life. That's one of the reasons why she didn't want Angel living with them, so she'd have somewhat of a normal life.

She walks down the hall towards Nathan's room. Xian and the others didn't want them to be too close because they didn't want them getting up to 'mischief.' She knows them to be over protective and against the idea of her being with someone at eighteen. Crinzalites are married when they're nineteen but they can't be in a relationship for three years before they're married. Its an old rule that's been followed for many generations.
