Its been a year.
A year of
Losing and finding,
Breaking and mending,
Hurting and healing.

A year of
Fighting a nameless war
Treading an aimless path
Hoping the wordless prayer answered.

I was hiding in an endless city.
Tears don't dry here;
There are always more clouds
Waiting to pour
Soaking me through my skin
Letting me be drenched
In my own pain.

Call me broken
Incomplete
Lost.
I am carrying the past
On my cracked shoulders
Trying to find a way
To let it go.

I could stop.
Curl up in a ball
Take it to my heart
Blame others
And stop existing.

But a part of me
Was not ready to fall
After getting so close to the sun
Just 'cause my wings melted.

A/N:
Happy New Year 2020 🎆

Moving into new decade, looking back at how at how far the journey has come, truly amazes me.

I am happy I didn't give up. And I'm happy so many of you didn't as well.

I didn't want to write a poem that just spoke about how much I fought last year, I want to write something that described how close I was to letting go. I feel that was my lowest and strongest point.

This aren't lessons that needs to be learnt. These are the battles that needs to be remembered.

And I'm really grateful to all that have supported my poetry and me through this journey.

Thank you xoxo
