Rhyme: Prophetic Dream

I once had a dream,

Though I thought it real,

Couldn't believe it was me,

The feeling was surreal.

The world around was dark,

Corruption was rampant in the streets,

What my eye's seen was stark,

To escape would be a feat.

Bodies laid on the sidewalk,

Passer-bys spat on the dead,

Hatred filled most hearts,

The afterlife had no rest.

Buildings crumbled to the ground,

No merchandise to window shop,

For many no money could be found,

Not even a nickle stored in a sock.

Thick smoke filled the air,

It blocked the whole sun,

If it was even there,

The sensation left me stunned,

Plants brought forth no buds,

The trees gave up no leaves,

Everyone forgot the Sun,

Shone where no light streams.

I once thought this was a tale,

A myth of the very end,

A story the Book would tell,

Of the lowly great Prince.

Suddenly the vision was gone,

I heard a quiet whisper,

In a deafening low tone,

"Go forth and tell your neighbors".
