there is a void. an ominous darkness fills it and surrounds everything in between. it dulls namjoon's senses, making him unable to feel anything.
within the void there is a light.
it's small, almost microscopic, and contrasts greatly to the atramentous darkness that surrounds namjoon, yet his eyes go straight to it.
the twinkling glow flickers a bit, gets bigger and brighter until more lights appear around it. namjoon realizes that he's looking at a galaxy full of stars.
the glistening orbs shine brightly around him. they call out to him in a language that he cannot understand, flowing around him like a stream of water. namjoon hears his name being called amidst the cacophony of sound that washes over him.
he can't move, he realizes.
a low humming sound gradually becomes louder as the lights get brighter, a sonorous melody that wails for someone to hear it.
namjoon is in awe.
he doesn't think anything, just takes in the glowing bulbs of light that look like tiny droplets of milk plastered on a jet-black sky.
he wants to reach out to them, to feel their warmth radiating across him but he is restricted against the invisible chains that keep him from outstretching his hand.
it's frustrating, really. wanting to feel everything, to really experience the pure beauty that he sees. he can't.
but it's too late now.
the stars go out, the humming ceases. the void swallows him again.
namjoon can move, but there's no point in reaching out when there is nothing to feel.
there was once a beautiful harmony of glistening lights and pitch-black darkness, blending together seamlessly and flowing through each other. but the fire is reduced to ashes and the waterfall is dried out and all that's left is a distant memory of the galaxy that used to exist here.
