CHAPTER 14- REUNION

                                                                  MAISY'S P.O.V

We had been eating breakfast all together the next day when we heard screams and shouts coming from the forest. The villagers were all in high alert and ready to attack when a group of people came into the village. They weren’t a threat because they were both mine and Eugene’s parents and people from the hotel.

“Maisy.” I heard my mum whisper and run to me, grabbing me in a fierce hug and I hugged her back. Oh, how I missed her. She pulled away and cupped my face in her hand.

“I missed you so much Maisy, I was so scared and worried.” She said, tears streaming down both our faces.

“I missed you too mum, I missed all of you.” I went around her and hugged my dad and even my sister. She might be annoying but she’s family. I looked towards my right and saw that Eugene was hugging his parents as well, probably all that fighting long forgotten.

All the villagers had now backed off, understanding that they weren’t a threat. I saw Eugene walking towards me with his family behind him, once he reached my side he grabbed my hand and both of our parents stared at it and I could see my sister smirking and wiggling her eyebrows at me which made me blush.

Eugene spoke first. “Mum, dad, this is Maisy.” He said and I shook both of his parents’ hands, feeling awkward.

“Mum, dad, Daisy, this is Eugene.” I introduced him to my family and he shook both my parents hands and nodded at my sister in acknowledgment.

“He’s my boyfriend.”

“She’s my girlfriend.” We both said at the same time and started to laugh. The awkwardness was definitely getting to us.

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Apparently both our parents know each other because they both have been looking for us together for nearly two weeks. They had accepted the fact that we were technically dating even though my dad grumbled under his breath on how I should never have a boyfriend.
Now we were sitting at the table, eating breakfast together. Our parents had laughed at us a little about our clothes but had gotten over it. The Chief had welcomed them as well, which was great.
While we were eating breakfast, I saw my sister sharing looks with one of the boys here, I think he was Murilo’s brother but I’m not quiet too sure. My parents were talking by them selves and that left Eugene and I sitting down quietly eating our food. After a while I broke the silence though.
“Are you happy that our parents found us?” I asked him.
“Why wouldn’t I be?” He asked back.
I looked down at my plate, not feeling as happy as before.
“When we leave here, we’ll go home and probably never see each other again.” And then I though of something, I looked up at him now, staring in to his eyes. “Where do you live?” I asked him.
“California.” He answered and I widened my eyes. No way.
“Please tell me you’re joking. Wait; don’t tell me you’re joking. Are you serious? Do you live in California?”
“Yes, why?” He asked, now confused.
I jumped up and hugged him around the neck, nearly making us fall both to the ground.
“Me too!” I shouted in his ear and heard him cringe at the high pitch sound I made next to his ear and then his slight intake of breath. I think he finally realized what I just said and hugged me back. I pulled away only to realize that everyone was staring at us.
“What’s going on?” My dad asked me in a slightly raised voice.
“Nothing.” I answered cheekily while smiling wide and saw him roll his eyes and continue on with his conversation.
