Couple cover charge stamps got her hand looking like a rainbow

In and out of every bar on a whim just like the wind blows

She's either a bachelorette or coming off a breakup

Take a drunk girl home

She's bouncing like a pinball

Singing every word she never knew

Dancing with her eyes closed like she's the only one in the room

Her hair's a perfect mess, falling out of that dress

Take a drunk girl home

I watched as Y/N was out on the dance floor dance with her friends. I had gotten a text from her that she was going to at the bars tonight to let loose and forgot everything that has been going on. Since we just won a game the guys and I thought it would be a good idea to go out.

Last week Y/N called me crying saying that she just found her boyfriend, now ex boyfriend, in bed with another woman. I had gone over to her apartment. I picked up her favorite pizza and got her favorite wine. We watched movies and didn't talk about anything that happened I knew she didn't want to talk about it she just wanted to cry.

"Well, at least now with some time, of course, you will finally get your chance." Seth put his hand on my shoulder.

"It's going to be a long while before anything. They dated for three years." Ever since I meet Y/N I have had feelings for her but since she was dating someone I never had a chance so the next best thing was to be her friend and to be there for her.

"Once she is feeling better you have to talk to her. You can keep thing from her any longer." Seth took another sip of his beer and went to sit with the other guys.

I looked back to Y/N to see her singing, dancing, laughing and just having the time of her life. When she was with the asshole she never let loose. She would come out with us but never like this. She was having fun. I walked over to the guys and took a seat.

Take a drunk girl home

Let her sleep all alone

Leave her keys on the counter, your number by the phone

Pick up her life she threw on the floor

Leave the hall lights on, walk out and lock the door

That's how she knows the difference between a boy and man

Take a drunk girl home

"I think you should take her home, Zach. Let her sleep off it off." I heard Nick say right next to me. I kept my eyes on her. I nodded my head to him. I finished my beer and went over to Y/N.

I had a couple girls try to dance with me but I told them no. I went straight to Y/N and the look on her face made me smile. She jump in my arms and hugged me.

"Its time to go home," I said in her ear. I saw her nod her head and say goodbye to her friends. She placed her hand in mine and I led the way out.

I opened the passenger door for her and helped her get in. Once I started the car she started to play with the radio looking for something good to listen to. I laughed when she started to sing and dance in her seat but I kept my focus on the road trying to get her home safe.

By the time I pulled up to her apartment her head was leaning on the widow and her eyes looked like they were about to close. I spend her car door and slide my arm under her legs and the other around her back and lifted her up and carried her up.

I took out the spare key she gave me a while back to open the door. I went straight to her room and placed her on her bed. I took her shoes on and just left her in her leggings she t-shirt she was wearing. I took a bottle of water and some Advil and placed it on the nightstand next to her bed and wrote her a note.

— Take the water and Advil when you wake up it should help the hangover

Love Zach

I left her bathroom light on and the hall light just in case she would wake up in the middle of the night. On my way out the door I made sure to lock her down and went door to my car.

You leave her drive for a dive and you get something bad to eat

They're singing "Closing Time" at that little bar across the street

In two by twos, strangers and lovers headed for the covers, hooking up

That TV in your two bedroom, sound's turned off

And through the paper-thin walls, you can hear the neighbor's cigarette cough

There's a million things you could be doing but there's one thing you're damn sure glad you did

I had gotten a text from Seth saying they were at a diner if I wanted to go get some food before going home.

I walked in to see all the guys. At a couple tables. They yelled my name when I walked in, everyone in the diner that wasn't with us just looked at me but I didn't care.

"I'm surprised you didn't stay at her place." Josh said while putting his arm around my shoulder.

"She doesn't need me there when she wakes up. I left some water and Advil by her bed and left some lights on and left her a note she will be okay."

"If she doesn't realize that you have feelings for her then there is something wrong with her." They all laughed and I just shook my head.

"I will be there for her no matter what. If she wants to get drunk at a car with her friends I will be there to take her home. If she wants to stay in and just watch movies I will be there with pizza and wine. If she wants to go do something I will take her to mini-golfing because she loves it even though she's bad at it. If she wants to watch a hockey game I will make sure I get her good tickets. I will be there for her for whatever she needs." The guys all had smiles n their faces.

"You have it bad Zach," Josh said and they all went back to eating their food and talking about our next game which is tomorrow night.

You took a drunk girl home

In the sober light of dawn

She left you a message, she thanked you on the phone

'Cause you picked up her life she threw on the floor

You left the hall lights on, walked out and locked the door

That's how she knows the difference between a boy and man

"If we play like we practiced today boys the Golden Knights aren't going o know what hit them," Nick said as we walked into the locker room.

After we all got dressed I pulled out my phone and saw I had a miss call and a voice message both from Y/N.

"Hey, Zach I'm guessing since you didn't answer you're at practice. I just wanted to say thank you for taking me home last night and leaving the water and that Advil it really helped. My brother text me this morning he got tickets to tonight's game. Maybe we can meet up after and get something to eat if you don't have plans."
